This has been a horrible day for me, I found out I am now diabetic and a couple of other things health wise. The HORRIBLE FIRES in Tennessesse that are making me cry for so many reasons. and other personal things going kapuly in my world,,, ,,,, ,,, I need to read the Happiest and HOTTEST stories out there about John and Rodney. The team can be in there, the city and whatever. There used to be a commercial that said, "Calgon take me away!" Well dear friends, help me and let SGA take me away for quite a few hours. I beg.

Hey guys - haven't been on here in ages, but was feeling a little SGA-nostalgia, and I wanted to ask if anyone has sardonicsmiley's work, say, as a pdf or something? Unfortunately, s/he's taken down LJ and smileyzone.net, which I had no idea happened. Smiley's ff-dot-net page is still up, but it doesn't seem to have much of the fic that I had tagged.

The Distant Future of Fandom (age 15) would like to read some SGA fic. She doesn't remember much about canon -- yes, this means a rewatch is imminent -- but would like a recs list of stories that are:

1. Below NC-17 in rating, for my sake as much as hers. She can find her own porn, lalalalallala fingersinmyears. Gen is *fine*, character-driven preferred.

2. less than 10K long, she's not in the mood for epic atm.

3. not too far off the beat of canon, at least as far as characterization.

4. more-than-twosomes not a problem, but go easy on the tentacles, etc.

5. really good.

I don't want to point her to Freedom's Just Another Word too early, I want there to be a build-up so she appreciates it.

I'm starting the list with Last Minute Shopping (or Trials and Tribulations of the Pegasus Galaxy Mall), by kisahawklin.

Hi all!
Beyond late to the party, but...I'm totally new to SGA- my flatmate finally beat me into submission and made me watch the first few eps. I then watched the whole 5 seasons in the space of about 6 weeks *g*
I'm officially addicted and I know there's tons of awesome fanfic out there, but I was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction to get started?
I'm basically after recs of:

Fandom-favourite fics (if its anything like Supernatural fandom I'm guessing there's a bunch on must-reads that everyone knows about?)
Your go-to authors for brilliant SGA fic
Any need-to-know rec lists/ archives etc.?

As far as pairings go I'm not really invested in any particular canon relationship, so I'm open to suggestion at the moment. Feel free to try and convert me to your OTP :) Equally, I love well-written gen fics, so really it's a pretty wide request. H/c, humour, angst, friendship, pwp, epic romance... or anything you wanna throw at me really!

I have been out of the fandom for a few months, after reading almost all the fic I could lay my hands on, so would love it if someone could help me out here..

I'm looking for the best, top-ten fics of the last 6 or 7 months. I love h/c and action, fluff, whatever... I have no idea if I've missed huge waves of brilliant fic or if it has been a dry period, but I'd love any new recs anyone might have hoarded up!

I just re-found

siegeofangels ' song-lyrics styled theme rec lists (links posted below), and was wondering if there were other rec lists in the same style. The rec lists linked below are mostly McShep pairing recs, but there are also a few gen!fic and I think I even saw a John/Ronon one in there. It'd be beyond wonderful if there were other such lists for gen!fic or even other pairings.

I'm not looking for any particular pairings, so I'll read any gen!fic, slash or het pairings available. If it's possible to pin down pairings in the rec lists, please label them where applicable.

Does anyone know if there's a central location (or at least a list) for fics written by Dasha? I've read a few of hers and loved them -- of course Salt of the Earth is a classic-- but it looks like her LJ page stops around 2007 and only three fics are listed on Wraithbait.

I've just read frostfire's at the hour when we are trembling and was just totally blown away. It's an AMAZING apocafic, John/Daniel SGA/SG-1 crossover AU. Read it if you haven't.

However, it's given me a real yen for John/Daniel stories if there are any more out there that folks can recommend. Purty please. :)

I've misplaced a link for an apocalistic list and I can't find it.The page was either ivory color or light pink. All of the stories dealt with SGA ,where mostly slash & gen and had some great crossover with supernatural,SG-1 and other fandoms.

Hello (after a brief detour in - doh! - the wrong comm) I am looking for particular rec post I stumbled on once upon a time. It was a rec list of SGA fics where each rec link was part of the lyrics of a well-known song. (Solsbury Hill or Strawberry Fields are coming ever-so-vaguely to mind, but that could be completely wrong.) The complete rec list looked like the song's lyrics but with all the lines linked to different fics that thematically fit those words. It was very cleverly done, but I didn't save the link and I haven't been able to find it again. Help please? Thank you!

Hi all!

I'm basically new to this fanfiction base; and I have watched all five seasons of SGA plus SG1 and SGU as it airs. So don't worry about spoilers. If someone could help me with some recs? I've discovered I love McShep AUs and have read a lot of what is on Wraithbait. In particular I'm looking for long AUs - be it a series (preferably finished) or a novel length one-off or whatever. I know there is a great AU list several entries below which I plan to get started on but its a bit daunting so if people could just provide me a few starter links to some of the really good AU's out there? I'm 20 so anything NC-17 is fine as well! Good charcaterisation is important to me, and I love it when other charcaters like Jeannie or even Carson are involved. Not fond of constant fluff or crack really, I do love some angst but stories with some fluff in are good too just not all the time. Sorry I am so picky!
