Understanding fear

Hi, this is quite a specific request.

Are there any stories which have people understanding the fear that McKay lives with. Not just knowing he's afraid but experiencing it for themselves because of an Ancient device (or similar) and knowing all the possible ways that things could go wrong as he thinks of them. I have this snapshot in my head of people all over Atlantis being paralysed by it and Rodney just going on business as usual.

Alternatively, any stories where something is projecting fear and McKay can ignore it.

there's Cypher's "Five People Who Don't Tease Rodney About Citrus," it's not quite the whole base experienceing his fear, but it's good.

I'd love to read some of these too. I vaguely remember a fic that was a John/Rodney bodyswap which included John developing a better understanding or Rodney's fears, but I don't remember anyone else catching on.

Walk a Klick (http://trinityofone.livejournal.com/123364.html) is the only other similar one I know of. McKay/Emmagan, and only Teyla really learns in this case. Still not directly apropos, but perhaps close enough.

In "Cases of Mistaken Identity" by Sardonic Smiley the team are captured. John gets mistaken for Rodney, and learns what Rodney experiences in these situations.

John develops the ability to see everyone's thoughts and starts spending most of his time watching Rodney's thoughts, including (bot not primarily) his fears. Really wonderful depiction of the injside of Rodney's head, though.
