Pre-relationship gift shopping

I read a story in a different fandom, where the guy's daughter asks his friend (pre- slash stage) help her choose a  christmas gift for her dad, giving him a chance to choose something special for his beloved.
I wondered if there were anything similar in the SGA McShep fandom, since there seems to be a lot of AUs where one or both of them are with a child.
If not , I'd like to see stories where they choose a gift for the other.

"Talking with the daughter about dad"  fic  101 ways to get lucky(in love) not quite what I was looking for, but the talks with the daughter was great.
"John helps Rodney pick a gift for Madison"  fic,   And to all a good night  is good too, but I was looking for something closer to the first recommendation. 
So, I think I'll stick to that instead of adding the gift part.
But if there are any out there, that would be great too.

looking for bikeverse

So I read this story a while back that I think was on LJ, and it was part of this larger AU universe community thing.

In it rodney is this universal receptor or something. All I really remember is that a part of the population were called bikes, and that rodney and john both worked with the government. It was interesting, and everyone was obsessed with sex, or so it seemed.

I was wondering if someone could point me towards postings in the universe, or something similar where for some reason a part of the population is viewed differently than the rest.

Anyone know of any fics where someone sticks up for Rodney?

I mean, we all know that Rodney's a bit prickly, but his team doesn't care. Any fics where we really see that?

Could be episode based, like John telling off Jeannie for the "you're no John Sheppard" thing. Or just his team sticking up for him when other people judge him.

I don't want to be more specific, because I'm not looking for anything specific at all. Really, just someone being defensive for Rodney.

I dont know what genre this fits so just pitch out whatever comes to mind

While I love McShep of all types, sometimes it doesn't seem very realistic.It seems even in the ones where they are previously straight, when it comes down to the sex, they seem to know automatically what to do. They also seem to have given it some thought at some point(the fact that they could have sex with another guy) Does anyone know of a fic or fics where the characters have never considered that sort of thing? Or, where the characters have no clue about how to have sex with someone of the same sex? I may have read all the Rodney virgin and straight from crossroads, not sure due to I favor those listed Rodney bottom. I'm not opposed to Rodney/other and would welcome any where Carson has to explain things to the boys or get involved himself. Thank You.
