Politics, and the Genii

1. Does anyone have any suggestions for good Pegasus political fic - the team getting involved in offworld intrigue, the IOA, the Pegasus Coalition, anything? The more complicated the better. 2. In a similar - more specific - vein, I just read lunabee34's If You Wish Upon a Star and am in the mood for some more fic about our tricky friends the Genii. I would love fics about Genii culture, but fics about their interaction with the Atlantis crew would be greatly treasured too.

For both requests, anything goes: gen, het, slash, femslash, I don't care.

Rodney's Learning Curve

Yes, okay, there are probably thousands of fics where John teaches Rodney to shoot and it turns into happy PWP smut.  However, that's not what I'm looking for.  I am looking for Rodney realizing, quite early in his time in Atlantis, on his own steam and for his own various reasons (self-preservation likely being one of them) that he needs to learn A) how to shoot, B) some hand-to-hand, and/or C) basic wilderness survival (any one or all three, whatever). 

I specifically would like John to be the one teaching him, though others helping out are okay too.  Doesn't have to be McShep, gen is fine, but please don't pair him with anyone else.

The real defining characteristic I'm hoping for is a look into how Rodney learns things, how he assimilates new information, when it isn't the usual classroom thing, and it is physical.  He's an engineer and used to getting his hands dirty, apparently, so muscle memory is not foreign to him.  And he's a grade-A genius.  I'd like to see how all that plays out when he's breaking down a Beretta, or learning the physics of judo, or figuring out how to field-dress and roast Beast-of-the-Week.

McShep - McKay driven to somebody else

A bit specific, but are they any fics where it's Pre or Post McShep and McKay is so upset about not being with Sheppard (or Shep has directly upset him somehow) that he lets someone (male please) else take advantage? Maybe the OMC has been perving over McKay for a while, or he's been chasing McKay for a while, but McKay keeps spurning him? And of course, Shep finds out eventually and is really angry with the other guy.

It would be a bonus if it they are in their teens, but it's not essential.
