I just woke up from the weirdest dream ever with a slightly odd wish for fic. I've been looking for a little while now with no luck.

So, here I am!

Okay. What I'm looking for are fics in which Rodney can breathe underwater or is part fish. Maybe he just spends a lot of time swimming with the Atlantis whales (like that au one at the Big Bang)

I'll read just about anything. Gen, slash, het. I'm not picky at all. If a part I don't like comes up: I'll skip over it!

But I don't suppose there are any McShep AU's out there where John and Rodney are New Zealanders, and which are set in NZ?  I'm thinking...John's an itinerant shearer with a dark and sorry past...Rodney's inherited a station in the King Country and doesn't know what to do with it...Together they learn to shear and...maybe to love again?

Or one based on the Whale Rider?  Or Goodbye Pork Pie?  Or even one where they were part of the SFX Crew on Lord Of The Rings (Jesus, that would be funny!  And what if Orlando totally hit on John and Rodney totally ruined Orlando's trailer with his pyrotechnic skills?)

Or John as Queenstown Ski instructor?

Or both as Professors at Victoria?  Or Massey?  Or Otago?

Just anything where they're NZers?

I know there's a lovely one out there where they meet in Christchurch on the way to McMurdo.  But I'm talking about one where they are actually NZers doing NZer'y things, but in a John and Rodney Stylee.

(I hope the ideas for what I'm looking for are ok in the Comm.  I was just thinking about this kind of thing and really wanted to see if there was anything out there like it.)

Oops there goes another Puddlejumper

Perhaps there are not as many puddlejumper disasters in canon as fanfic implies.  Hm, let me see ...  In 38 Minutes both John's death and the puddlejumper problem were only temporary.   In The Ark, it was a space shuttle that John crashed after the puddlejumper had already been blown out into space.  Well, there was the puddlejumper crash in Childhood's End ... and in Condemned ... and in Grace Under Pressure ... but that's not really a lot, is it?  I want more!

Any links to stories with puddlejumper crashes or other disastrous puddlejumper rides, would be appreciated.  Thank you kindly.

I'm in the mood to read a good fight scene with Sheppard. He doesn't have to win the fight, just anything with cool hand to hand stuff. He kicks someone's ass, they kick his.

Have you guys read and fics where you were impressed in the ability to actually visualize what was going on?

Matchmaking that backfires

ok, this request might be a bit picky, plese bear with me.

I am looking for fics where people try to matchmake for Rodney and John. This type of story isn't unusual, I know, but I'd like to read about times when it backfires on the boys. I.e. Rodney tells John about his feelings after being urged to and John rejects him for whatever reason, and the other way around. Angst and pining for all. Happy end would be a bonus but not mandatory. Any suggestions?

And example would be Conquests by Dragonfly Promises.
