Atlantis expedition believed dead

i'm looking for any stories where the Atlantis Expedition is believed to be missing/dead- preferably from a very early point (such as never receiving any message requesting help in letters from Pegasus for some reason) and they have survived or at least some of them have. I am hoping for one where Atlantis goes to Earth to defend it from the Wraith... In particular i am interested in seeing interactions between the Expedition members and the Earthlings... Hopefully Dr Weir is still alive and in control of the city...

any suggestions??

Hmmm. Decade by canis_lupus might fit your search, though I haven't read it, so I can't say for sure.

I know I've read fics where Earth hasn't heard from Atlantis in years, and thus presumed lost. I'm struggling to recall specific fics, however - I'll keep thinking on it.

In "Finding Home" the Atlantis expedition makes Earth believe, they are dead and forms alliances with Pegasus natives (Larrin) instead. But Sheppard is in charge, not Weir.

In "The Slow Slide of Indifference" Earth doesn't think Atlantis is dead, but becomes indifferent to their existence and needs and leaves them to fend for their own. (Hardly any new personnel or supplies from Earth)

For the interaction of Earth and Expedition members:
In "Square Peg, Round Hole" Earth is lost to the Ori and the SGC evacuates to Atlantis, only that they don't really fit in.

"Decade" should fit perfectly from the description and first chapter, but I haven't rread it, so I cannot say if it is good.
