I did a rec set of my 5 All-Time Favorite Really Most Sincerely Dead Stories (http://community.livejournal.com/sgversetop5/5595.html) a few months ago, 4 out of the 5 are SGA and most McShep (all pairings labeled). (Stories vary between very sad and sad and uplifting at the same time.)

Hth also wrote Penitent (http://archiveofourown.org/works/28937), ~8850 words, multiple pairings/near-OT4 but not.

A sort of inversion of Freedom's Just Another Word: I Got Soul But I'm Not A Soldier (http://minervacat.livejournal.com/951835.html) by minervacat, ~13,800 words. past McShep -- here it's John who survives Rodney.

This story is one of the very few that has reduced me to tears. The dream sequence is the part that is particularly gut-wrenching.

Also, seconding the rec for Freedoms Just Another Word. I've never been able to re-read it because it was so bittersweet.
