Fallout from A Near Death

I just read “Rattled” by Kristen999 and it has me craving more stories where one of the characters almost dies (prefer it to be John) and it's not brushed off as an everyday occurrence and has a real impact on the others. I.e. it leaves them shaken and protective while trying to come to terms emotionally. Love comfort stuff. Bonus points if it's a team fic, showing the reactions all of them.

Prefer Gen, but slash is okay. Please label them and thank you in advance!

Salt of The Earth (http://www.area52hkh.net/asd/dasha/saltof01.php) by Dasha might fit. rodney gets SERIOUSLY wounded off world, and the whole story is his recovery and how it affects John and the rest of the team. It's Unrequited slash? Rodney's in love with John, but John is straight.

Ways to Die in the Pegasus Galaxy (http://crysothemis.livejournal.com/51373.html) by crysothemis. Slash, McShep. Rodney has a hard time dealing with almost losing John over and over and over again.

Every Other Beautiful World (http://rhihero-fic.livejournal.com/58179.html) by rhihero. Um. Hmm. Slash, sort of. McShep definitely. A stranger arrives on Atlantis after her world/univers has been obliterated. She comes to terms with losing everything. It sort of fits your request, but sort of doesn't also. But! It's a really good story. The author hasn't linked the continuous parts, but if you click on the 'next post' link at the top of the page, you should be okay. It's worth the effort.

I hope this at least gets you started. Salt of the Earth and Every other Beautiful World are pretty lengthy. Each will take hours to get through, if not a day. And Ways to die is a decent length too, 18000 words. Enjoy!
