mcshep AU's with neither Rodney or John as physicist or pilot

I am trying to get together a list of AU's and wondered if anyone has any suggestions. I am looking for ones where neither have ever been their usual occupations. So for example I would not include Academics by Pru (all time favourite read)as Rodney is still a physicist but would include all those musician ones or skaters or chefs etc.To clarify I want them to be human and to be on Earth and have a contemporary setting. Will take any where they used to be physicist/pilot but have now got new occupations.

To cut text, you type a < and then you type lj-cut text and then you type whatever you want to hide and then you type an = sign and put in a title, and lastly you type a > If you go to the FAQ help file on livejournal you can read all about how to cut text and put in links, etc. :o)

As for suggestions - gosh, are there any left? That looks like such a comprehensive list! Wow. What would be totally awesome is if you put the name of the associated fic out beside it. Or are you working on doing a Delicious tagged list? Hope you let us know when it's finished!

now see that's my problem. The words appear to be in english but I can't make them make sense. I have problems translating so I learn by actually doing? but I need to watch someone do it so I think I am stuffed.....
I have the ones so far as word doc so I could send to you if you want. Its a bit rough and ready because I am still adding...
I thought of putting the lot in the posting but without the lj cut thing I thought it would be too much. If anyone wants a particular pairing I will try and send it. lol

To do an lj cut tag:

< lj-cut>Text of your post< /lj-cut>

Remove the space between < l> and < /> and that's all you have to do. It's very easy.

Hi there, I see folks have tried to explain lj-cuts to you before, but if you can't manage to insert one into this post please delete it and make a new post with the lj-cut codes in place before hitting the post button.

To recap how to make lj-cuts:
- click on the 'edit this post'
- switch to HTML mode (not RichText, this is important!)
- find the place in your text where you want your lj-cut to start, and copy&paste this there (you can replace the text, of course): <lj-cut text="The list of AU occupations I've collected so far">
- now find the place where you want your lj-cut to end, and copy&paste this there: </lj-cut>
- click on save/publish/post/whatever that button was called, check on the comm's main page to make sure the cut is working, and you're done :-)

If you have further problems contact me and I'll be happy to help you out, but this post cannot remain as it is, it's way too long without a cut. Thanks for understanding, and lemme know how things go.

You could also try the cut with the Rich Text editor, just highlight the text you want under the cut and hit the button for lj-cut.
If you want to use html tags on the rest of your text you can always switch back to the html editor ;)

There is "PuddleJumper Estates and ZPM Enterprises", where John's a Real Estate agent and Rodney is a billionaire...

There is also another one where Rodney is a Cop (or FBI agent) and John is unemployed (or is a porn actor, in the beginning of the fic, at least)... I'm looking that one out on my bookmarks to make sure...

I love this kind of AUs... Do you have the fic's list as well? I would love to reead a bunch of these...

Thanks for that suggestion for puddlejumpers and zpm enterprises.I can't remember if I thought Rodney was a bit too close to physicist but I think I will add to my list.
I thought I had the porn /cop one but I got myself a bit confused when making the list. If you can remember/find the fic I can check the list.

Do you happen to have the list of fics you have for the category you're looking to fill online or is it just in a Word doc/text file? Of course, you may have done that already - thus my confusion.

Thanks for those. I had seen most of these and some are not for this particular list in that I want them to still be human, though I realise I didn't make that clear. Also want them to be on Earth. On the other hand there are some I hadn't considered so will look into adding. The difficulty I find is that lots of AU fic still has Rodney as physicist like in Kindergarten Rodney where he is filling in for Jeannie and still have John as pilot even if retired. Will take any where they have moved on to new occupations though.. Seems I have some reading to do....
The list is the ones I have found with Johns occupation first. I have a word doc with the links in .if interested I can email to you to save possible duplication although I must warn you that it is exceedingly rough and ready and in no particular order. lol
