Lost baby

Hey all,

I've just re-read 'He's having her baby' by glitterati (here) and am wondering if there are any more fics like this - but with a more serious tone.

I'm looking for fics where someone (preferably Rodney, but really anyone will do) gets pregnant and then for some reason or another loses the baby. Perhaps they're told they're pregnant and get all excited about it only to find out later that it's not true.

Proper tear-jerkers would be perfect.

Any clues? Thanks in advance.

By the same author you sited, aka rageprufrock, there's "Lustrous" (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2156) with some differences. Rodney manages to travel through a stargate to another dimension where John's a girl & they're together - or they were. The story mostly deals with the aftermath. Not what I'd call a tear-jerker, but there are moments.

This one does have a sequel to it - I don't quite remember the title, but something about Silk & Pearls - which is a crossover with Smallville, and I think is about the further adventures of girl!John & Rodney, during which I think there is a miscarriage scare. I haven't read it yet - just skimmed it - so I'm not exactly sure on what happens.

This isn't directly on target (het scenario, not mpreg), but I offer it in case it suits: In a part of Waiting for My Real Life to Begin (http://toomuchplor.wordpress.com/fic/waiting/), there is a miscarriage and Rodney is hurt about it. I wouldn't call it a tear-jerker, but I found that element poignant.

It's not relly mpreg and the baby is actually born, but if you're in the mood for something heartwrenching, read it anyway.
