Atlantis cut off from Earth

I'm maintaining a thematic list of stories with Atlantis cut off from Earth, either involuntary or by secession, or in which the expedition settles as a colony in Pegasus, i.e. all stories in which the Atlantis expedition has to fend for itself in the Pegasus galaxy, but I haven't added any recently. I've been thinking that this probably is due to me not scanning for them enough, so that I just haven't come across them at the same rate as I used to.

Thanks for pointing out that sequel.

I haven't read East or West because I'm not fond at all of Kolya pairings, and from just taking a look I can't tell in which sections it belongs. Do you know if Atlantis is just cut off from earth for a longer time in it, does it secede or do they have a colony in Pegasus after Atlantis is destroyed?

East or West is a bit long(c179,000 words) and complicated to précis, but I'll have a go.

Sheppard is not part of the original expedition.

When the Genii take over during the Storm, they lose Atlantis and those left in the city are taken back to the Genii homeworld to work.

Those who were evacuated to Manara don't know that their friends were taken; so they have to survive without Atlantis.

Sheppard is still serving in Afghanistan. He, and Holland, have been captured. They find a way to escape, but John is severely injured - and is in hospital where he meets Cam Mitchell after the fight with Anubis. Mitchell and Sheppard become friends. Mitchell goes to SGC and gets Sheppard invited.

Earth finds a ZPM and send a MALP to Atlantis when they find it's deserted, they send another expedition - including Sheppard this time - and they take over he city. The Daedalus is also sent to rendezvous with them there.

They finally find all the survivors from Atlantis, including those taken by the Genii, and they work together to fight the Wraith.

Thanks for summarizing. That doesn't sound like it fits my list though, because my criteria for "cut off" from earth is that it lasts significantly longer than in canon at least if it isn't permament (like say in Martha Wilson's Retrograde where they are cut off much longer than the roughly a year or so of season one), and this one sounds as if they reestablish contact with earth like in canon only under an AU premise.

They were cut off for about two and a half years I believe, before the second expedition enters Atlantis... and some more time passes before the two parties join up.

Cool, then I can put it in the "cut off" section. I just don't want the categories to be too broad so that all kinds of season one stories would also fit.
