Podfic

I have a loooong plane flight ahead of me and it hit me that instead of the usual music I could maybe load som podfic to take with me.

Only I don't know which fic have been read and recorded. So I'm asking everyone on this list. Please help me fill my 27 hours (almost regretting this trip already *g*) of travel time with fanfic, instead of boring in-flight movies.

I prefer John/Rodney slash. But het won't kill me, not instantly anyway *G*

[livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur also has a huge archive of podfics in numerous fandoms.

The John/Rodney category is here (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/12/11).

This previous search (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/275637.html) for podfics has some good recs - it also saves me the time of looking all the links up all over again. :-)

(Oh, and since then [livejournal.com profile] shaenie recorded "Fireball" by Celli, a wonderful McShep AU, read also wonderfully. :-) It's probably up in the podfic archive, and it's nice and long.)

That's the one I would recommend, too. It's wonderfully read and Shaenie's 'Rodney voice' is just awesome, imo. :)

I have no reccs, but I just had to comment to say that is the most excellent idea I've ever heard to while away a very long journey. I can just imagine all the other passengers disembarking all grumpy and there you'll be, cheerful and, um, glowing!

In that case avoid [livejournal.com profile] rageprufock's readings of her own stories at all costs. I was listening to "#435, The Atlantis Local Stitch'n'Bitch Chapter" which isn't even that crack-worthy (actually, no, it totally is), but I was probably grinning like a loon and breaking out in unexpected giggles while walking around the city. Folks were afraid to stand beside me while waiting for the light to change at street crossings, I swear. >.< (I'm fairly sure it's up at the podfic archive. Isn't everything? *g*)

I love podfics - especially those that are well read (and there are not many, believe me) - so I can rec you these readers, my favorites:

Anything by General Jinjur (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/readergeneraljinjur)
Issaro (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/readerissaro)
Pennyplainknits (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/readerpennyplainknits)
The Oscar Cat (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/readerthe-oscar-cat)
and my all time favorite Zoetrope (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/readerzoetrope)!

I'm not saying that there aren't other great readers, I just haven't discovered them yet :)

*snuggles you* I can't stop listening to your podversion of "Rodney Haz Cheeseburger". I love the way you read John's "Relax!" XD

Can I pop in to completely back up the Written by the Victors rec? Aside from the fic being one of my faves that podfic version of it is a work of audio art. Done fantastically well especially given the nature of the fic. It's also of good length so helpful there too.

But you must do that one.
