Hi all,

So I got a new iPod Touch this weekend :) and I'm working on filling it up. In the past, I'd run into podcast fics once in a while, but I never paid much attention to them because, you know, no iPod. But now. . .

*happy dance*

So your challenge, should you chose to accept it: Point me to all the best SGA fic podcasts on the Web!

Gen, het, slash, whatever. Just please note which is which. (If I don't end up listening to it, I'm sure others will appreciate the recs.)  Also, if there are any downloadable, iPod Touch-friendly fics  out there that anyone knows about (I'm thinking e-book format maybe?), I'd love to hear about them.

Thank you!! :)

The giant multi-fandom podfic archive hosted and managed by the incredibly awesome [livejournal.com profile] general_jinjur is here (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/). You can find enough fantastic stuff there to keep you happy for a loooooong time. *g*

(and now, with added sense value! *facepalm*)

Just a few of my personal podfic faves (totally subjective!):

- top of the list must go to [livejournal.com profile] ladyflowdi and her reading of her fantastic crack!fic Maharaja (http://ladyflowdi.livejournal.com/441744.html), McShep, R [podfic dl link here (http://jinjurly.com/audfiles/maharaja.zip)], just because hearing her say Vizier makes my day every time I re-listen :-D

- [livejournal.com profile] yin_again's reading of her wonderful AU Complementary Colors (http://yin-again.com/compcolors.htm), McShep, R, in which Rodney is a painter and John his latest model; Yin totally does them - and her story - justice [podfic dl link here (http://yin-again.com/audio/comp.zip)] (just FYI: the story has a sequel Analogous Colors (http://community.livejournal.com/fire_fiction/1283.html), McShep, NC-17, which unfortunately hasn't been podficced yet :-( )

- [livejournal.com profile] the_oscar_cat has made a *huge* effort to podfic the *huge* Nantucket 'verse AU ([livejournal.com profile] wagoneer), and basically brought the whole thing into my faves list with that not-so-little feat and her lovely reading voice [podfic dl links here (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/seriesnantucket)]

- [livejournal.com profile] pennyplainknits has fairly recently started podficcing, and what I've listed to of her reads I all loved, so I can safely rec you her podficcing work (http://pennyplainknits.livejournal.com/tag/podfic) (also available here (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/readerpennyplainknits)) and leave the choice of listening to you, certain that you'll find something you'd like

- another author who took an excellent fic of her own and made it all the better by reading is [livejournal.com profile] khohen1, with two versions of John (http://khohen1.livejournal.com/648932.html), McShep, PG-13, fusion with Dexter, one with soundtrack [dl link here (http://jinjurly.com/audfiles/johnwmusic.zip)] and one without [dl link here (http://jinjurly.com/audfiles/john.zip)]

- last but definitely not least is [livejournal.com profile] celtic_tigress's reading of [livejournal.com profile] lavvyan's last year's Big Bang fic, Theory of Evolution (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=2), McShep, NC-17, who manages to make the 41,000+ word fic seem like it's a breeze to get to through, with fabulous character voices and sound effects that captivated me and totally made me forget just how long the thing actually is [podfic dl link here (http://jinjurly.com/audfiles/theoryofev.zip)]

...And, that's it. I do have other podfics that I liked, but these are my in "must listen to even if you've read the fics" category, and I hope will help you find fave podfic readers of you own. :-)

If you like really long, long (5 and 1/2 hr) fic read by multiple fen, try The audiobook of Written By the Victors (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/category/authorsperanza?page=2) written by speranza, aka [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza. It's slash ... McKay/Sheppard and one of my faves for the range of voices. The mb4 file (audiobook) is smaller than the mp3 version so if iPod Touch is okay with that format, I'd grab that one rather than the mp3.
