Hi there! New girl in these parts.
I looked through the tags and the previous requests and didn't really find what I was looking for, so here goes nothing:
Can someone help me find a long, juicy, story with smart!John (either math problems, or logic, or even strategical solutions where he stands out).

The catch in this request is that I would rather read gen stories. Can someone help me?

I've been having 'fun' with this one!

My 8yo is a big SGA fan like her older brothers and she asked me if there was any fanfiction she could read, since she knows that I read SGA ff. Most of what I read in SGA is John/Rodney (and preferably loooooong), but now I need to look for short stories suitable for children. She is capable of reading The Hobbit - so reading level is not likely to be a problem - but her emotional age is still only 8, so pairings and violence should be fairly low-key. If you can think of anything suitable I'd be very grateful!

I'm thinking maybe team friendship fics might be where I should look? Or adventure-type stories? Oh and no drunk shenanigans - I'm surprised at how much gen fiction starts with the main characters getting drunk!

Oh - and if you know of any fanfiction archives which are specifically aimed at children that would also be welcome information.
