really interesting het recs, please?

Kind readers, to vary my fic-reading a little more (and in part inspired by the recent search for fic featuring strong portrayals of the women of Atlantis), I'm looking for recs for really interesting, well written het SGA stories. Or writers with a bunch of those.

What I'd like are things similar to some of the stories by (off the top of my head) synecdochic or samdonne or helenish or shaenie or fiercelydreamed or pir8fancier or rinsbane or hth_the_first -- so, layered and intricate and emotionally complex and ultimately satisfying (and/or happy ending that's not supersupersaccharine), but (more) het.

Not-traditionally-happy-togetherness but somehow satisfying endings (such as in McShep, Freedom'sJAWFNLTL), even sad ones, are welcome. Slash background or secondary pairings are fine, but a main focus on het ship(s), please. Het-inclusive (with a strong focus on the female character(s)) threesomes welcome too. As are AUs.

If you're reccing a frequent-het writer, an indication of what length stories and primary pairings (or "various") they typically write would be great. For story recs, I'm ideally looking for mid-length stories of say ~10 or 15,000 to 50,000 words -- though pointers to outstanding shorter or longer ones welcome too! -- and maybe a warning if it's a WIP. Ronon finding out about Teyla's wraith DNA

Somewhere out there at least one story must exist that covers ronon's reaction when he first learns Teyla has wraith DNA.  I don't care if the story is het, slash or gen, I don't care if what I'm looking for is a scene or the point of the story.  I don't even care if the reaction is a noncommental shrug or a complete freak out, I just want to see what writers have done with such rich material.

Het h/c stories, please.

Inspired by purple_cube's (slightly) Lorne/Cadman stories, Reclamation and Breaking Point, I apparently developed a craving for het h/c stories. Preferred pairings are Sheppard/Weir, Sheppard/Teyla, Ronon/Jennifer and all kinds of rare pairings (those will get bonus points! And maybe even cookies!), but please keep it het. Background unobtrusive slash pairings are okay but please no McShep and het has to be the predominant pairing. I'm not picky about who's comforting whom but strong female characters (both as the comforted and the comfortee) are always a plus.

Also, extra bonus points if it's a Lorne/Cadman h/c story I haven't read yet ;) (I'm familiar with most of havocthecat's works and the Lorne/Cadman stories at sg_rarepairings... and I wish I could tell you of who else's Lorne/Cadman works I'm familiar with but I'm harrassed to get up from the computer to go shopping so please bear with me that I can't tell you :S).

Hi, new here. I’m looking for suicide/death-fics where Atlantis is forced to deal with the aftermath of Rodney’s death after he commits suicide.

1. Looking for anything where the main characters fight over whose fault it is that Rodney killed himself (leave no prisoners!) I would prefer that the fallout be focused on as many points of view as possible, but specific character’s POVs are fine. Multiple character-whump is greatly appreciated!

2. This can also include any fics were Rodney fakes his own death – and everyone believes it – in order to leave Atlantis because he can’t handle the stress and/or lack of respect. Atlantis can eventually learn that he’s still alive, or not.

Looking for fics where pack dynamics are explored, and feature everyone thinking John as a non-Alpha and someone challenging him or something and him showing that he really is Alphic and messing with him is a bad idea. Prefer McShep, but will read anything well written. Also, the more people who are weres, the better. Would also prefer fics where they're in the Stargate program.

Must Read Slash Fic?

I’m pretty new to the fandom side of SGA... and I’ve got to say it’s probably one of the biggest fandoms I’ve ever dipped my toes into!

I've found some great stories and some less-than-impressive ones, so I started thinking - in every fandom I've ever been in, there's been a handful of stories that everybody has read. These classics of the fandom are the kind that everybody is familiar with - except us newbies.

So what stories are the ones you would nominate as classics? I'm admittedly a slash fan at heart and I’d love to hear about any recs people have with Ronon as a key character. I love h/c, angst, first time... oh and kink, kink is a very good thing... but mainly I'm just genuinely curious to learn which stories are considered the well-known, cut-above-the-rest ones?
