Winter holiday stories

I've searched through the tags and can't find anything like this, sooo ...

I'm looking for gen stories related to winter holidays -- Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice, invented midwinter holidays of the Athosians or Satedans or other people, stuff like that. I'm putting together a winter holiday theme list for stargategenrec and need more stories! (And I want to read them too, of course. *g*)

Any characters can be included, but no pairings please (beyond background mention of canon pairs).

McShep AU: Stargate verse without Atlantis

Are there any story set on the Stargate universe (so there is SG-1, SGC, Rodney is an astrophysicist and John is a pilot) but, somehow, they never ended on Atlantis (or Atlantis don't even exist)? I'm wondering how they could meet and be together on a setting where Atlantis isn't a part of.
