Fics that make you cry for Sheppard

Finals always put me in a depressed mood, so I'd love some recs that make you cry for Sheppard. I don't mean physical whump, but rather emotional whump. Fics where Sheppard doubts himself, or  just doesn't realize what he means to everyone.

An example: I just read Second the Best by Kat Reitz and Perryvic, and the fact that John thinks he's second best through the whole thing just gets me! Especially because in this weird way, he's the heart of the entire thing, the person who brings them together and is, despite his inability to talk about his emotions, the one who is always there for everyone. Word to the wise: that is an m/m/m slash fic, so don't click on it if you're not into that.

But if anyone can think of other fics like that, please rec them to me!

Pretending to be Straight

Caelieth (sp?) 's post got me thinking: she asked for stories where the boys pretend to be gay and somehow fall in love.

I'm looking for fic where the boys pretend to be straight: specifically, a John who knows he is gay but has rarely/.never been with a man and is terrified, for whatever reason, for being seen for what he truly is.  Then he is somehow confronted with someone who knows, or guesses... and as always, McShep is preferred.

Note: I'm not looking for a John-discovers-he's-gay stories so much as a John's-gayness-is-part-of-who-he-IS stories or John-realizes-it's-okay-to-be-gay stories. 

Though I expect this'd be harder to find, Rodney pretending not to be gay might be cool, too.

I realize that, as always, I have asked for a REALLY specific sort of story.  If you think you've got something that kinda sorta maybe fits, please rec away; just let me know when you do.

I haven't been in the fandom for a very long time, and I'm sure I haven't come across anything 'classic' yet.

Are there any McKay/Sheppard fics that are considered 'classics' or a 'must read' for the pairing? You know, the kind of fic where someone goes, "You like this pairing but you haven't read that fic yet?!"

I'm open to a variety of genres and don't care about the rating. (But I will completely jump on fics that have Rodney being completely beat on, drugged, etc).

It doesn't look the same in IE as it does in Opera and Firefox, but this is as unified a look as I could get the codes to do, so. It'll have to do.
