I just finished reading Burnt by Comodoresexual over at wraithbait. I was wondering if there were any other stories out there that dealt with Rodney having some sort of breakdown that led him to distance himself from the rest of or most of the atlantis expedition? Stories can be gen or slash.

I just read toomuchplor's wonderful Break My Fall and am now craving more McShep fic where John *plausibly* cries. Shep!whump, h/c, emo all welcome-- basically anything that causes Sheppard to break down and lachrymate. McShep, Spoiled John

I'm looking for fics where John never joined the army, and is this rich playboy who parties through life and woos women to hide his gayness from his family. Though of course secretly he's yearning for something completely different, and then McKay shows up and turns John's facade of a life upside down.


Also, John's father needen't necesarily be involved, maybe John's made his money on his own and is a bastard of a business man or something. Just as long as the setting is John pretending to be something he isn't and hiding behind the rich lifestyle.


I'm not generally too keen on teenage fics, so I'd prefer if they were at least in their mid twenties, though I'm not too picky.

Depression and/or Feeling Left Out

Hi,

I didn't see a tag for depression and I checked through the Rodney!whump and the abuse tags but didn't really see what I was looking for.

I'm just wanting fics where Rodney is depressed (possibly severely) for any reason. It could be because he's feeling guilty of Trinity or something in the fic itself, like John or someone on the team gets hurt because of him. Or, it could just be that he's clinically depressed, or even bipolar, and is just going through a depression cycle.

I prefer John/Rodney, but if it's good I'll read any pairing or gen.

But, I'd like it if it's Rodney who is depressed. It doesn't have to be resolved by the end, but a semi-happy ending would be nice. I'd prefer no suicide fic, although attempted is fine, as long as he doesn't actually succeed.

ETA: I'd also like fics where Rodney's feeling left out and depressed about it. It doesn't necessarily have to be team related feeling left out, just like he doesn't feel like part of the group (team or Atlantis or AU or whatever).

I know there's a lot of fic out there where the Marines of Atlantis (and, for that matter, the SGC) either completely disregard Rodney or are deliberately cruel to him, but are there any where the Marines stand up for Rodney, or any fics where there's an actual friendship, or at least major tolerance, between the Marines and McKay?

I'd love to read anything you guys can come up with. Preferably gen or slash, and preferably McKay/Sheppard for the latter, but I really don't mind. Just, please, please, please not Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus! *smirk*
