So I was watching Vengeance the other night and got to thinking...

Alternately, if no one knows of any fics about that specifically, any good fics involving Shep and iratus bugs? Could be him actually getting bit by one again, just the threat of it, episode tags/missing scenes, whatever - though whumpy is always better. ;) The part with him and the bug(s) doesn't have to be the main plot or focus of the story, and I'm quite open to AUs as well. Just no slash please (unless preslash and/or easily read as gen), or permanent death or maiming of canon characters.

Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give!

Howdy folks! I just finished reading lavvyan's With Wings So Bright They Burn and naturally loved it. Does anyone know any other good SGA/X-Men crossovers?

The only other one i've read was Good Guys Don't Always Wear White by Nel.

Thanks in advance!

I have had a hankering lately for fics in which the lines between Sheppard and McKay are blurred. In which John's inner math geek comes out to play and Rodney's new soldiering abilities take the floor.

I am NOT looking for Mensa!verse stories or role-reversal stories -- unless it is done TO them, not a what-if thing.

I would prefer gen, but will read well-done slash that has a plot.

Thank you in advance. And if not much has been written, I might take a stab at it someday myself. *grin*

I'm in a very odd mood. Eeek.

A) I'm looking for any fics where Sheppard is captured by people obsessed with blood rituals. Maybe they've never seen red blood or hope John's blood has magical properties. Or it could just be an evil bad guy who enjoys watching John bleed or aliens who want his gene and are crude about getting it.

B) I'll even take vampire fics as long as John isn't the vampire, none of the team is and he's not turned into one. Just where he's captured by one that actually wants blood.

I'll take gen or slash or whatever.

Now that everything thinks I'm nuts, I'll run away :D

Thank you.

It's been a few days since we implemented the new rules and so far I'm happy that all of you have made your posts accordingly. I don't think we're asking too much and it's great to see you're all being so fantastic about interacting here. :)

That said, [livejournal.com profile] imbecamiel has made a suggestion that I personally find very sensible:

The majority of searches on here are slash, but there are also quite a number that are open as to whether they want gen, slash, het, etc. or that prefer one genre (or specific pairing) but will take others.

Especially for those who are looking through old searches before making their own, it might be really helpful (and help cut down on potentially redundant searches) if you asked that, where the request is open like that, those replying with fics specify whether the fic they're reccing is slash, gen, het, etc. A few do already, but most don't.

I think that's a very good idea, so I'm going to ask you to please mention in your comments whether the story you're recommending is het, gen, slash or femmeslash if that isn't clear from the request post. The same goes for pairings: if someone's asking for, say, slash recs in general, it'd be nice of you to mention if the story you're reccing is Dex/Lorne or Beckett/Zelenka or McKay/Sheppard (and so on).

This won't be a rule I'm going to enforce; it's a request. But I do think this would make browsing the posts a lot easier for everyone, plus it takes barely any time at all.

I also want to use this opportunity to thank everyone who takes the time to dig through their bookmarks, memories, tags, rec lists or simply favourite journals to make recommendations and help find more stories for the genres people are looking for. Thank you! You're amazing!

Any comments/suggestions to this post and the rules in general are always welcome.
