Kavanagh Stories

 Hi there everyone.

Tonight I'm looking for stories that feture Kavanagh as a big player in the tale. And I don't mean just any old story, though those are pretty good too. What I'm looking for are stories where Kav doesn't suffer from serious character bashing. I've gone in search myself and I've found some delightful tales that end up beating the man physically, and egotisticly, while slandering his character beyond recognition. I won't name stories because that's rude, and aside from my opinion on them, they are still pretty nice tales.

But what I'm hoping you might be able to recommend are stories where Kav isn't shown to be less than scum upon the underside of the city, but as the intelligent, prickly political mind that he is. Stories where he is still the bastard that he is, but ones where he is not used as a tool to make other characters look good.

Any ideas about stories like those? They can be gen, het, slash - any pairing (with Kav single or taken, doens't matter).

Maybe try searching wraithbait.com and Area 52 (http://www.area52hkh.net/), which are the two biggest and best known SG archives, for "Kavanaugh" in summary?
Area 52 is also SG-1, so you will have to further define the search.

I've tried Wraithbait.com searching. Even when I'm very spesific with my choices it always seems that I'm not picky enough and it comes back with too many possibilities. Which is heartening, but very disappointing at the same time. I ended up just going through the stories one by one (mostly), and I didn't turn up stories I'd feel remotely comfortable naming for the same reasons in my post. (I ended up playing with google search and still ended up with only a handful).

Though I'm off to try area52 now. I completely forgot about that site actually. So thanks for reminding me of it.

The one that pops up in my mind, is the Bric-a-brac series (http://scribblinlenore.livejournal.com/tag/bric-a-brac_verse) by scribblinlenore. The series is McShep, and MPREG is, well, the major plot point, but Kavanagh does feature in the stories, and majorly, in this snippet (http://scribblinlenore.livejournal.com/359118.html#cutid2).

I've read a few of those stories before, but I had no idea that this snippet existed. And it does fit the kind of stories I'm looking for.

ETA: Also as a Kavanagh fan you have probably already tried this, but stories linked on Kavanagh-centric comms like kavtolanon are probably less prone to bashing, and guaranteed Kavanagh-centric.

“For Now” (http://community.livejournal.com/kavtolanon/103465.html) Kavanagh/Simpson, R, Summary: Kavanagh and Simpson are lost off world.
It is a good adventure fic which shows a realistic Kavanagh, pricky but intelligent enough.

he Letter by Ellex [PG] (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=3464T) The series is Mckay and Sheppard centric gen but Kavanagh features greatly in ch.3-4. It is one of the best Kavanagh I like. Unpleasant and rude, but very insightful and really has principle.

#435, The Atlantis Local Stitch'n'Bitch Chapter (http://glitterati.talkoncorners.net/fiction/435.html) It is a fun Mcshep story, but Kavanagh does feature in it as a supporting character and the take is fun (NOT in a bashing way.)
