i'm looking for stories that are about McKay or Zelenka and how they were approached to go to atlantis or about when Mckay is in Russia after being sent there after teal'c got out of the gate....

Hmmm, looking through my bookmarks and I have one that might suit; it's mostly (intriguing) Radek back-story but it does touch upon his recruitment to SGC, and is well worth a read:
Life, Luck, and Other Mysteries by Audrey Lynne (http://wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?skin=mckay&sid=15220&chapter=1&textsize=1) at Wraithbait.
It's marked as gen and PG-13, for violence (such as seen on the series) I think; I've only just skimmed it to refresh my memory, but I don't think there's anything too strong (except maybe some multi-lingual cursing, LOL).
I may have a couple of others, but I don't have time to re-read them right now, in order to check for stuff. You didn't mention if slash was okay?
