I have two requests: I'd like gen fics with Ronon and members of the Atlantis military contingent appreciating him and/or interacting with him; Marines, Air Force, non-US military, doesn't matter. Training, missions, slive of life, whatever tickles your (or my ;)) fancy. Even better with OCs or minor/recurring characters (Bates, Markham, Stackhouse, Lorne, Cadman, etc.). I'll take non-military characters, too but the focus should be on soldiers, marines, airmen etc.

I'd also love to read stories like [livejournal.com profile] smilebackwards's Five times John's men were proud of having him as their CO, i.e. gen fics with members of the military contingent (canon and OC) appreciating Sheppard as their CO and a fellow soldier, interacting with him etc. Again, doesn't matter of marines, airmen or non-US military (but non-US military will get you bonus points :D). Also, the more OCs, the better.

For the second request: Just Like the Richard Gere Movie by Domenika Marzione (http://www.offpanel.net/dmz/sga/gere.html) - Major John Sheppard from the perspective of the Atlantis-bound marines. [Gen/~1k words]

Most of my SGA Marine tags are by Domenika Marzione, but some of the few that aren't include:

'Annual Casualty Review' by thedaytheystop which is a snippet I love, of Sheppard being interviewed by DiNozza from NCIS about why there are so many Marines who die under his command.

Also, 'The Daily Grind' by kristen999 has John temporarily in charge after Carter is recalled to Earth and he tries to bring the civilians and marines together by having an Atlantis Robot War competition.

'Five People or Beings Who Inhabit the SGA' by holdouttrout isn't about John, but I love the unusual character perspectives of civilians and soldiers.

'The New Guys' by T'Pring is an action story of John being badass and impressing the new Marines on Atlantis.

By kho is 'Things Said About John Sheppard', multiple outsider points of view.

Dear Anony, where are the links for the tales you list. I'm a great SGA reader and they are all new to me. Just tell me where to start. Thanks...

I don't have links, sorry. I transferred everything into documents and now store them as .mobi on Calibre to read on my Kindle.
But I found them by googling :)

So far, most of those are on AO3; T'pring is usually on FF.net. The one by Kho is at her old site, here (http://kho.cruel-kindness.net/words/sga/thingssaid.php)

(frustrating when people make recs without links, isn't it; hope this helps).

Or instead of feeling annoyed, could feel excited to come across new fics and do one minute of work to find them online.

Thank you for the link and where to look for the others. I do not have the spoons for Googling, today.

Thanks; I unexpectedly had the half-hour or so and surplus energy to do the searching, and thought I should share.

Oh, and it's Five People or Beings who Inhabit the SGC (http://archiveofourown.org/works/230476) on AO3.

Both of these writers give good military gen:

Rock Happy Verse by Arwen Lune (http://archiveofourown.org/series/16566) has Marines all over the place, including the ones from Generation Kill; Sheppard is a more realistic commanding officer but when he does show up he's enormously in-character and well observed.

Scherryzade, all by (http://archiveofourown.org/users/scherryzade/pseuds/scherryzade/works?fandom_id=70) but especially the Newcomers series (http://archiveofourown.org/series/2408) where John Sheppard's military history, command style, and Pegasus reputation drives the plot.
