So I've been out of the fandom for a bit, and now return with a craving for good fic I haven't read before. I'd appreciate any recs you all may have for newish fic! Looking for McShep, fluffy stuff or at least a happy ending.

I'll take any and all suggestions that fit the above, but if you'd like a couple more specifics: I like obliviousness, ie, one or both of the boys don't realize that they are basically married; I like pining, especially when combined with obliviousness (and a satisfyingly sappy ending); I like AUs that still include Atlantis somehow; I like kidfic of the single dad AU variety; I like Mensa!verse; I like things set in an ambiguous imaginary season 4+ with Elizabeth still around/in charge; I like things that make me laugh and things that are so sweet you have to just shove your face in a pillow for a minute to get through your feelings.

I don't like angst, that's like basically the only thing I don't enjoy. No death, no cheating, I just ain't about that kind of drama.

Pretty ambiguous request, I guess, but really, I'll take just about anything! Bonus points for AO3 links, so I can read them on my Kindle :)

I've read a lot of good stories in the last year but one that really sticks out is Ascent by Panisdead (http://sga-saturday.livejournal.com/98616.html#cutid1). A little angsty, a lot funny, just a good story. Also at ao3 (http://archiveofourown.org/works/381547")

SGA AU – John and Rodney meet at the Antarctic base, and the fur flies.
Bonus: on AO3.
There's no character death (however, bad guys still die) nor any cheating. It's an AU which leads toward Atlantis. Perhaps mostly on John's side, but he doesn't quite understand that Rodney actually like likes him. It's not completely happy all the way through, mostly because of John's somewhat uncertain future, but it ends happily. There's quite a few sappy scenes if you like cats. Also, John is a feline shapeshifter. And has a 'love' affair with his helicopter (which is kind of sweet).
