Are there any post-Trinity fics where the characters realize that McKay's mistakes on Arcturus aren't comparatively any worse than waking the Wraith, or the Hoffan drug, or unleashing Michael on an unsuspecting galaxy? Basically, while I love the usual lemon-chicken trope, I'm looking for post-Trinity fics where people act a little more rationally, and not like McKay is Hilter redux.

Thanks

There is a ton of post-Trinity fics here:

There is a brief description of each fic, so you might be able to find one that matches your wish :)

What a wonderful concept, people behaving rationally over that.

The closest one I can see is Sholio's: That Which Is Broken (http://www.sholiofic.com/sga/broken.shtml).

It is on the Post-Trinity list but it is rather different from most. Ronon isn't interested, Teyla sees it as a mistake that should be moved past and Elizabeth quickly deals with her trust issue with Rodney when Teyla shows her a little perspective. Radek accepts Rodney's apology for the huge, for him, gesture that it is and works with Teyla to fix the rift between Rodney and John. Some of the sciencists are a bit off with Rodney but that's about it.

So yes, there is a rift between John and Rodney but most of it is caused by them being two men with the same ability to express their feelings as a hunk of wood! John's problem, in the end, comes down his getting a shock at how much unthinking trust he had in Rodney, how he nearly lost someone he cares about and a side order of realising that Rodney is occasionally fallible!

It is a more rational take but there is still a schism. I'll wait and watch and see if anyone comes up with anything better!

Wish I had something to add to this, other than the comment that I love this request. I would LOVE to read fic like that.

I love post-trinity fic like the ones on the lemon-chicken list, but would love rational post-trinity also. Is there any way to translate French stories such as the one you recommended?

You could use Google Translate..it's not perfect, but you can understand it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually stumbled on that myself and cut and pasted the story there. It was far from perfect and humorous due to the really strange translation. Unfortunately, even with the partially incorrect translation this story doesn't even come close to the request for a rational post trinity fic. If I understand correctly, John and Rodney commit murder of a major character to avoid the irrational response to the whole fiasco. I believe they are even more irrational than characters in any other post trinity fic I've seen. I'm saddened to see a lack of response to the request for rational stories, I was initially excited to see what others would suggest.
