Sheppard Drinking Scotch

Hello!  Happy Friday!  Does anyone have a fic or know of any fics in which Sheppard enjoys a glass of single malt scotch or other type of drink with someone?  Can be friendship or family-oriented.   Thank you!!

I can't remember any story that has John Sheppard drinking Scotch, but in an interview Joe Flanigan revealed that his dad introduced him to Laphroaig Single Malt and he hasn't liked any other Scotch since.

Oh, interesting! I wondered what type of scotch Joe drank. I figured he can afford to buy any kind of scotch (any price) and would have more than one single malt kept on hand. Cool. Thanks for sharing that. :D

Laphroaig Single Malt

I just read a couple of reviews of Laphroaig. It is considered a very good Islay scotch; at the top. After reading the description of the nose and flavor notes, I can see why Joe Flanigan would love the scotch. It must remind him of being out on his surf board... the smell of the ocean and seaweed, and maybe of working the earth. And, he could drink Laphroaig and forego smoking a cigar. I can imagine that these are the main reasons he loves drinking it, but I also think it is admirable that Joe honors his father by drinking the scotch he introduced Joe to.

You know, I think Joe must have really loved and had a good relationship with his father, ever though he was adopted. I guess when your biological father walks out on your mom when you're still a baby and she remarries and the man immediately adopts you, you've gotta love him.

Did you know that Joe got the news that his father had passed away while they were filming Search and Rescue? He was pinned in by the special effects people in the scene where he's trapped with Jason and they asked him if he wanted to stop filming and, even though everyone could tell how upset he was, he said he'd continue because if he left it would ruin the filming for everyone else and cost the studio too much money. A true trouper and a gentleman, thinking of everyone before himself.

I had read that about Joe finding out his father passed away while he was on the set of Search and Rescue. That is really sad. I also read that Joe had said in an interview or at a convention that he had sat at his father's bedside in his hospital room and one of them (maybe his dad) made a joke about the good looking nurse. Joe wasn't able to be there at the very end of his father's life, but at least he spent some quality time with him towards the end.

I was just reading this story earlier! There's a short scene where John drinks some scotch with his brother and Rodney. It's eventual McShep.
