ATA gene, Sheppard's Childhood, and Hero!Sheppard

Hey all!  This is my first time posting, so sorry if I mess up at all!  I have a couple of requests!  
 
1. Stories about Sheppard having a connection with Atlantis and it being a good thing that helps everyone (not like the city is going to kill him, necessarily, unless he's just so connected to the city that it affects him.....if that makes any sense).  

2. Stories about Sheppard having an abusive childhood and the team finding out and being supportive.  Please no hurt without comfort!

3.  Stories about Sheppard being a POW or just in general having been injured as part of his past as a soldier and such.  I really want the team to realize that he isn't a wimp, he's been through the ringer (and them being protective would be awesome).  Along those lines, the best hero!Sheppard stories you've got.  

If they could be gen, that would be fantastic!  You all are my heroes!  Thanks so much!  :)
