OKay, this may be a little weird. You know that quote from the bible (from Ruth? I think) that goes 'whither thou goest .....your people shall be my people...' ? Are there any fics where that's used? Like, someone uses it to explain something to Teyla/Ronon? Or John or Rodney (more likely John, I think) uses it to each other? Or John quotes it to Teyla? Anything where it's romantic (John/Rodney or Teyla/John only, please) or a cultural thing? Where Teyla/ROnon are 'maybe these Earth people aren't so bad? Antying like that? Thanks very much in advance.

And yes, it is a mother/daughter thing. It's still used romantically. Or can be. MOstly I'm looking for the Teyla / Ronon / Pegasus natice reaction to it. Thanks again.

PS - Pianoforte is okay, even if I don't really follow the pairing.

Mod - Tagged it! Thanks.

Not really up on my bible verses, but isn't that a daughter-in-law saying that to her mother-in-law? I can't think that it would be used in a romantic setting, but I could be wrong about the verse.

No, you're right about the verse but it has been used now in romantic settings. My husband used it for our engagement ceremony; converts often use it when they convert.

it was Ruth saying that to Naomi after both of their husbands were killed and Naomi wanted to return to her homeland.

I've actually read this in a John/Rodney fic somewhere, but I can't remember it for the life of me.

Okay, apparently it was Ronon/Rodney. The quote isn't used romantically, but the story itself is romantic--so probably not the kind of thing you're looking for. Still, here's the link:

I second "Pianoforte". It's a very well-written story, and it fits in a lot of ways to that verse. Here's an alternate, AO3 link (http://archiveofourown.org/works/178584) to it.

But, let's not forget the one story that fits both the letter and spirit of that verse very well:
