I'm looking for fics where Rodney pretty much thinks he's too unattractive for anyone to like him, let alone John.  

Something where John has to work to prove to Rodney that he's serious because Rodney just doesn't believe John would want him.

I am looking for a bit of angst for Rodders, but happy endings are a must.

I know this idea (Rodney grateful and amazed) is a common thread in a lot of McShep fics, but I'm more interested in fics where this is the central theme. 

Where Rodney has some pretty dark thoughts about his lot in life, and where that darkness is inevitably dispelled by the glory of Shep (amen)

I read a great fic

where John asked Rodney to jerk off for him, but Rodney couldn't believe that anyone, let alone John would be interested in seeing that.  But of course John is and the happy ensues.  :)  And another where Rodney tells John his fantasy, becasue it couldn't be a reality) is John jumping Rodders and having him up against a wall like he really missed him.  And of course John does actually feel like jumping Rodders because he missed him and the happy ensues.

Thats the kind of thing I mean.

Oh nuts...thing is I lost them and have just asked for them on sga storyfinders.

I'm not even sure if they're two stories or scenes from the same one. Except I seem to remember them being quite short.

In Not Yet, Not Ever (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=8153) by constant vigilance Rodney is tied up, naked, to a bed, and John takes his sweet time making a move, and it only makes Rodney more nervous/upset the more he waits. John's reaction blows him away, though, when he does start.

I think there was a story similar to this one, but I can't even think of it properly at the moment. Oh, and I haven't seen your search post; hope it's sucessful, though.

I can't believe I've missed anything in this genre, as it's a favourite of mine, but these two slipped under the radar somehow.

Oops, sorry about that; I didn't realize you were looking for them.

I didn't mean to get your hopes up, either. There's really not that many and believe me, I've searched, which was why I was surprised I missed two (two!?) stories out there somewhere.

Just about everything I've read I've gotten either from sgagenrefinders or sgastoryfinders, as both groups are just the most fantastic resources *ever*!

This is the first fandom I've been in that seems to be structured mainly through livejournal and as a result, I don't keep bookmarks for anything in SGA, but rather track through friending and joining communities.

Sorry again for being less than no help!! :-(

It's cool. I'm really keen to find those two stories. I have only recently started bookmarking frantically and I want to get stories I read when I first got into SGA...so I may never find those two.

There was a line in one of them (and I hope I mentioned that they might be the same story...I just can't remember...)

John asks Rodney what he fantasises about and Rodney turns to the head board and says something like "You and me like this, like you missed me so much..." and John realises Rodney has no idea how much John is into him...It's really gut wrenching and sweet.

Does that ring any more bells? Maybe it is one you've read but my description was so pants you'd never know!?!

Oh man...that fic is so full on! Thanks for finding it. The first person thing is disconcerting, I kept thinking 'Arrgh! Get out of my head!' which is embarrassing on a number of levels. :(/:)

No, no. Not TMI *lol* I'm so glad you know what I mean. It's really cool. I think a lot of people feel like that on occasion, and being honest enough to write about it is pretty awesome.
