Looking for angsty fics regarding John's relationship with his family, especially his father (though I wouldn't say no to mother or brother or any other family). If the team is included in some way, all the better.
Would particularly like attention paid to difficult adult relationships with history, and attempts to overcome that.

The first fic Patrick Sheppard is alive, the second is after Atlantis lands on Earth and John meets up with his brother in San Fran, and the third he is badly injured (temp Paralysis, but he needs lots of PT before he can take over duties again) when Atlantis returns to Earth so he ends up being taken to Earth for a long recovery.
The fics focus on Johns relationship with his brother, his father (this is even dealt with in the third book), and his relationship with his team to a slightly lesser degree. It is also John/Teyla so his relationship with Teyla and Torren are a very important aspect. John and Torren are wonderfully portrayed in their interactions.

Features a ton of teamy schmoop. This is also a beautiful John/Teyla love story- I love McShep as much as the next girl, but this one is worth stepping out of the OTP box for, IMO.
T'Pring's Blood is thicker (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4138921/1/Blood_is_Thicker) : When John is infected with a virus that only an infusion of his own ATA gene DNA can cure, the team goes into overdrive, and Dave Sheppard comes to Atlantis (whether he wants to or not).
