Deprogramming fics

Hi! I've not done this before, just give me a shout if I've done anything wrong.

I'm looking for any fics that have deprogramming in them, specifically of John. Something like Come and Try by Tari Roo, but maybe a bit longer, if possible? More involved would be cool - like the captors got further in the process before John is found/escaped/let go to do evil things, etc.

I'm a big fan of John whump, and though I prefer gen, I'll take slash or het as well.

Actually, any awesome John whump you've got would be great too.

Was there a follow up to Unshackled? It's one of my favorites and I'm dying to find out just what did happen to John, and how he and Rodney survived the fall out.

Sorry, there was no follow-up. It was an answer to a challenge and one of those stories that left the rest to the reader's imagination.

Thanks, that was an awesome fic. Absolutely what I was looking for, and you've got some other really great fics there too, which is always a plus. :-)

I've been to shappard_hc, it's a fantastic community. Coming in late to fandom isn't easy though, it takes time to go through all the miles of fic available. :-)

I'm the mod at the Sheppard HC com. What's great about LJ is if you read a story that you enjoy, more than likely if you click on the author's LJ, usually their first entry has a masterlist of stories to indulge in. Hm, this might work.
A Life Less Ordinary by puddleofgoo has two chapters that deal with both the programming and the deprogramming. The team gets taken and they are split up and sold as slaves. Both Rodney and John end up having to deal with a pretty difficult aftermath once they are rescued. There's a lot of whump.
It's not gen though - McShep - and I advise you to read the warnings before starting to read. It's not strictly necessary to read the rest of the series to read the two chapters either, as long as you accept its slightly AU character.
The chapters of interest are: Ten: The Owned and Eleven: Chasing Shadows.
