Hi everyone. I'm looking for any stories where the Alterians/Ancients weren't so great. It could be something somewhat benign such as how the current Alterians act during The Return, or more about how they were before they ascended.

I don't know if there are any out there, but I would love stories that explore how they have an entire galaxy "Praising the Ancestors" (much like the Ori) Also, anything from the following would be fair game as well:

1. Look at the creation of the wraith and anything else that might be similar.
2. Looking at the horrible experiments kept at Atlantis (perhaps the fact that they captured a creature - the shadow - to study it and kept it locked up for 10,000 years.
3. The fact that they control how Ascended act even those that ascend on their own - maybe even looking at the fact that ascended of different species (ie Humans) are required to act a certain way.
4. Hypocritical actions of the current Ascended.
5. How the ascended neglected a treaty with the 3 other great races once they actually ascended.

I know it is sort of a broad request, but a lot of the fics I have been reading recently seem to make the fact that they had been around for awhile and had incredible technology means they were a great people and everyone on Atlantis sort of looks up to them. I would love stories were everyone on Atlantis sort of hated them instead.
