I'm looking for five types of fics today.

#1. Stories where John's ex Nancy plays a part, isn't vilified, and where her and John's marriage isn't dismissed as being love-less or a marriage of convenience.

#2. Stories featuring Ronon and Teyla's parents.

#3. Stories about John spending time with Torren.

#4. Stories about Dave Sheppard.

#5. Stories about Jeannie Miller where the focus is on her life and her feelings, and not Rodney's.

A little bit of a two-for-one (hits #1 & #3) -- "Stuck in the Middle with You" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4190429/1/Stuck_in_the_Middle_with_You) by rubycaspar -- It's from Nancy's POV and has John interacting with Torren, although that's not his name in this story. Pairing is John/Teyla or at least maybe heading that way.

More for #3: If you don't mind John/Teyla as a pairing, there are more possibilities in the much earlier search John as Torren's Daddy (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/595648.html) - it's got a mix of other pairings in there, as well.

In fact, you might even say they are the motivating factor in Ronon's actions.

"To Entangle So To Know" (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=11970) by Idyll -- John/Ronon Pairing, again, this story doesn't quite feature Ronon's parents, as the story takes place in current time, but they are there bright & strong in Ronon's memories during the course of this story.

"Right Now" (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=14822) by Jenda Vis -- John/Ronon Pairing, Ronon's mother comes to Atlantis....

"Three Brothers" (http://friendshipper.livejournal.com/205409.html) by friendshipper -- No Pairings, an AU that features Teyla's parents heavily, but doesn't focus on them as it's from Teyla's POV.

"Stars Gather, Dreams Pour Into Your Pillows" (http://archiveofourown.org/works/51127) by mirabile_dictu -- Teyla/Kanaan & McKay/Keller Pairings, This is from Teyla's POV & while it takes place in current time, there are quite a few flashes of her time with her father as he takes her with him on his travels, teaching by example as by words, as they relate to her experiences with the Atlantis Expedition.

There are more nice bits of Ronon and of Teyla's bacstory in The Bee Charmer (http://archiveofourown.org/works/28910) (also Ronon/Teyla, ~7700 words)
Actually all of Hth's fics SGA that prominently feature Ronon or Teyla -- i.e., many of them -- have intriguing bits of backstory (including family though not necessarily parents) in them and are worth (re)reading. Warning, some are very sad though, and not all are on the AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/users/Hth/pseuds/Hth/works?selected_tags[]=70) but require some digging (http://hth-the-first.livejournal.com) and wayback machining (http://web.archive.org/web/20080123101154/hth.gatefiction.com/atlantis.htm).

This is slightly redundant as this fic is findable on the list that jane_connor pointed out. But I thought I'd bring it up 'cause it's such an awesome look at Dave and Nancy in one little fic. Brothers (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_genrequest/13318.html) by wildcat88 takes place during "The Last Man" and shows John's funeral and how Dave/Nancy handle the news. The depth of emotion and memory in this piece will astound you. I guarantee you will enjoy this to the hilt! :)
