Of course it'll probably turn out to be one of cesperanza's (about which I'll go "doh!") as stories of which people sorta-remember a particular turn of phrase so often are. ;)

Yay! busaikko found the story where Rodney thought John didn't have a nice ass but then gets to admire it and eventually admits to its greatness: Boxers or Briefs (http://www.eternalvox.net/forcryinoutloud/AtlantisFic/Boxers.html) by forcryinoutloud. McShep, ~2750 words.

Also located via the sgastoryfinders search, the meta/authorial-change-of-direction bit from early days of fandom where cesperanza's initial assertion that Rodney had no ass was (roundly) impugned. (In Clarity (http://www.trickster.org/speranza/cesper/Clarity.html), the sequel to resonant8's Resolution (http://www.trickster.org/res/resolution.html) and prequel to astolat's Composition (http://www.intimations.org/fanfic/stargate/Composition.html)). But on being presented with counterarguments (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/88191.html?thread=2284159#t2284159)/pictorial evidence (http://cesperanza.livejournal.com/78419.html), cesperanza changed it to John appreciating Rodney's very fine ass. \o/ Which is not actually relevant to your search for people appreciating not-Rodney's assets, but didn't you want some nostalgic meta (and an excuse to reread those three stories) on your weekend? ;)
