John is Forced to Fight

I'm looking for stories where John has no choice but to fight other people in either a ring or gladiator type thing. It could be a planet's 'fight club', a ceremony of some sort to proof his worth, a fight for survival or to keep his team alive.

It could be part of the story of the main theme. I prefer that it's John only that has to fight.

Gen preferred, but slash is fine.

Two Way Street by Stealth Dragon has John being forced to fight under the influence of a drug on an alien world. He does have to fight Ronon at one point, though, so it doesn't exactly match your prompt. 23,700 words, Gen.
