Storm stories please?
Feb. 1st, 2011 08:16 pmAs I sit waiting for a storm that will probably again pass us by (SE Michigan-Detroit area)I would love some stories about the team battling inclement weather. Rain, snow, tornado or whatever. As a diehard McShep I've lately dipped my toes into Sheppard/Lorne and even Sheppard/Mitchell. I don't quite understand OT4 but if well written please show me. Thank you.

Whirlwind
By NotTasha
Official Summary: The team is helping out a town with a broken shield system, a penchant for tornados and a secret. McKay has a building fall on him. He gets hurt. Sheppard, Teyla, Ronon and Beckett along for the ride
Word Count: 55,488

Winter Wonderland
By NotTasha
Official Summary: Team goes to a frozen world for a bit of trade negotiation. Horrible things happen to McKay. Sheppard, Ford and Teyla are here too
Word Count: 36,592
My summary: McKay gets lost in a wintery wilderness, it’s up to the team to find him in time before his injuries, the cold, or a combination of the two kills him.

Treading Water
By Thought Reflex
Official Summary: Drowning had never been a fear Rodney needed to embrace. Trust, relying on others, and having to betray his own secrets, however, was something that kept him awake at night. Friendship, whump, genetic manipulation, homicidal tree huggers…(This fic kind of fits the bill, they are dealing with flooding on Atlantis)
Word Count: 31,362
My summary: This fic kind of fits the bill, they are dealing with flooding on Atlantis. If you like this one, I will also put a plug in here for the sequel which can be found here:
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4866842/1/Lost_At_Sea.
As the title might suggest, Rodney gets set adrift in the oceans on Atlantis, battling the elements as he waits for the team to rescue him.

When It Snows
By nebbyJen
Official Summary: When Beckett, Teyla, and McKay become lost in a snowstorm, they must rely on each other if they are going to survive.
Word Count: 39,946
My Summary: Team gets lost on a snowy world, Beckett gets hurt, Rodney gets sick. The team must try to hold it together until help arrives.

Castaways
By Baroqy
Official Summary: McKay and Sheppard are stranded on a planet with no hope of immediate rescue. Sheppard gets infected with a parasite and McKay tries not to die. (Kind of fits the bill, it's them trying to survive on an island while waiting for rescue)
Word Count: 52,807
My Summary: author summarized it well. Sheppard goes around trying to kill McKay on the island, Carson and company aren’t quite sure what to think of the situation once they get the pair back to Atlantis.

I'll also do a little shameless self-pimping:
Reckless Abandon
By hollow_echos
Official summary: The team goes off world to help with a routine evacuation mission during a monsoon. Rodney's left behind on the planet and water levels are rising. Our favorite scientist is left praying for a miracle and a last minute rescue from his teammates.
Word Count: 26,000

These are all the ones that immediately came to mind. Stay warm and stay safe in the storm! Hopefully we all get dug out soon enough....

I live in IL, right in the middle of it. So far it looks like we're going to get the 24" predicted. They canceled school for tomorrow early, like around noon.
