sgarecfinders1. I've been reading the Hunting Parties verse by ltlj continuously for over a month now and was wondering if there were any more fics like it - John falling for an alien OMC.
2. The team meeting John as a teenager or kid - I've read Chosen One (which sort of fits the criteria), Sheppard's Law and the fic where John regresses on age, but I'd like to read a fic where they meet John as an adolescent and we see their thoughts on that John or something. (Focus on team dynamics would be good too)
3. Alternate realities like Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves or Of Men and Angels - where something along the way goes different and every thing's changed. The more changes the better - and I'd like it if it wasn't earth side (like I'd prefer it set outside earth, in which John was born in Atlantis or another planet or something and the story was him meeting SG-1 or whatever).
4. Fics where John is an alien in either Milky Way or Pegasus. Just John. I'd like him to still have the ATA gene.

Date: 2011-01-29 05:55 pm (UTC)There's Earth 2 (and there's a podfic as well)....okay, it does take place on Earth, but it's a really different alternate reality.
In Bright Wings, Atlantis has already been found by various Pegasus Natives before the Earth Expedition gets there - and that, in turn, completely rewrites everything we know about Team Sheppard's adventures in Pegasus.
Or, there's the Retrograde Series, which also has some of it's stories podficced (here, here, and here) - this one takes place in the Pegasus Galaxy, and the original Expedition is 'lost'.
I'm not totally sure if this is what you were looking for, but when I think "Atlantis AU", my mind automatically leaps to Aegis - the ATA gene itself is different from canon, so everyone who's got it is different in turn. Plus, there's a podfic, which is always a plus!
More along the lines of 'Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves', where Team Sheppard are Space Pirates, is Raiders of the Seven Systems (and, the podfic is here). Other Space Pirates fics include Five Ways They Weren't Pirates, Dreams Beneath Our Feet, and The Last Hail Mary You'll Ever Need.

There's also Not In The Stars, where John is an Athosian, and Teyla is part of the Earth Expedition.
John's an alien...something..... in Unconventional Beauty. It's a riff off of 'Beauty and the Beast", takes place in both Atlantis and Europe, and has apodfic as well.
Rodney and John are both Pegasus Natives in Harvest Festival. Rodney's in charge of said festival, and John's a participant. Plus (yet again), there's a podfic!
I think that descended!Ancient counts as 'alien', right? If so, then Angels in the Architecture, the Total Recall series (6 stories, with available PDF download as well), and A Chance Encounter will fit you perfectly.
In the Divide'verse (four stories, links to the next at the bottom of each fic), John is a runner who's found by citizens of a thriving Sateda. The podfic's available here.
John's a member of the Genii, and the story's told from Teyla's POV, in Almost All Grown Up. It's a *really* intriguing story.
