McShep – only one is really interested in a sexual relationship

I'm wondering if there are any stories where John and Rodney are in a sexual relationship but only one of them is really interested in the sexual aspect. The other is there because he loves him / wants to be close to him / wants to make him happy. I'd like to see that dynamic and what happens if the disinterested one meets a man or woman he's sexually attracted to.

I can imagine them breaking up, modifying their relationship or having a threesome. I'm interested in them all (and any others).

You might want to check earlier searches that use the asexual tag (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/tag/asexual) at this comm, some of those might be close to what you're looking for?
(Off the top of my head for asexual!John in a relationshp, busaikko wrote several asexual!John-in-a-relationship stories (http://archiveofourown.org/works/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query%5Btext%5D=busaikko+asexual), most with Rodney and once with Rodney&Jennifer (http://archiveofourown.org/works/67033), though the latter is non-sexual. teaphile wrote OT4-including-asexual!John in The Complexity of Daily Life (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=12481) (long, contains character death) siegeofangels wrote the intriguing AU If You Want to Kiss the Sky (http://siegeofangels.livejournal.com/419084.html) in which John is in a relationship with Rodney though the one he has sex with is Lorne rather than Rodney.)

Hee. I think I'm the person who most recently asked about asexual John. In any case I was thinking more about one of them being straight but as I re-read my request I see how asexual comes to mind.

Hmmm, most of the ones that come to my mind where one of them is/starts out straight end up with them both liking the sexual as well as the emotional-intimacy aspects of their relationship, or have them deciding to stick with being friends even if they know one of them would like/have liked more. Hmm...

So the excellent Last Man Reshuffle (http://archiveofourown.org/works/28026) by pir8fancier which I just recced for a completely different search has (a) John who's convinced he's straight wake up in a life where he's been in a successful relationship with Rodney for decades, and he's baffled but also fascinated by how it seems to just work. ~20,000 words, includes the line " ... I don't think you're gay or even bi-sexual. Perhaps Rodney-sexual. Which is," and here Rodney blushed again, "possibly, the hottest thing in this universe." There isn't anything about meeting someone he's (more) physically attracted to than Rodney in there though, IIRC.

I love that story. And that line packs such an emotional punch (for me).

I may be looking for something that doesn't exist - most John/Rodney fans want them together :) Thanks so much for trying.
