Sheppard comes in late to the program

I was checking up on the Farm in Iowa Universe and it put me in the mood for stories, somehow, John isn't initially in the program, but is later brought in. I know I read one where he is a physio therapist (I think it was a Cam/Shep fic and stopped before it actually has him in the program fully.)

I prefer slash, but gen is okay as well. It doesn't have to be completely SGA - SGC programs work as well (though both the Cam/Shep and Farm AU are SGA with John being brought in because of his strong gene) Again, it isn't necessary, but I would love stories that show how the program wasn't working well without him initially in it and/or go into detail (read: continue) after he joins. Neither of the above have really delved into the second.

I wish Hindsight had more because it is exactly the type I was looking for, while hoping it would go into what happened when they got there.

I actually had read There's No Such Thing... awhile ago and completely forgot about it.

King,Chance and Hello were exactly what I was looking for as well - though of course I miss the in Atlantis in those two as well.

Criss-Cross was great. I wish we got to see the reactions to the letters.

The comm's rules say another request for the same/similar theme after two months is fine, but I think most of those previous searches I linked to were also (oops!) requested much sooner after each other than that.

I do think it's helpful to request-answerers if the requester says something like "I've already read the ones in this, this, and this search, are there any other/new ones?" Or "I've read these and these, but I'm looking for ones with a specific twist, that is..." (which you did for the stories you read :) even if not previous searches) so request-answerers don't link the requester primarily to stories they already just read. But that may be just me, preferring to help people find *new* crack (or reread classics that they'd forgotten included the element they want) rather than inadvertently to the stories that inspired their search. :) In any case, happy reading with the recs you got!

In this fic, John doesn't go to Atlantis until he decides to interview Rodney after what Cameron did. However, it should be noted that the Stargate program has been declassified in this fic. So it's not that big a deal that John comes in later than canon. On the other hand, the expedition is happy to have John due to his gene.
