[identity profile] anyanka-eg.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] sgarecfinders
I'm off to San Francisco on Sunday for a week with work and I'd like some good reading material, specifically anything (pref McShep) set in California. Happy for anything, from complete AUs to post show.

Thanks in advance.

Glad I got to point you to it. I'm still finding all the time there's lots of classic SGA fics I haven't read yet -- there are just so many SGA stories out there! :)

"Oasis" (http://blueraccoon.livejournal.com/559265.html) by [livejournal.com profile] blueraccoon is not all in California, but they do go there for a period of time....

"Calling" (http://me-ya-ri.livejournal.com/295136.html) by [livejournal.com profile] me_ya_ri has Atlantis parked in SF Bay & takes place there for the majority of the story.

Also... I'm not positive, but I think [livejournal.com profile] purna's "Converging" (http://purna.livejournal.com/22055.html) takes place in California, as well.

Not that it's a huge part of the story, but [livejournal.com profile] ladyra'a newly-posted crossover "Four Military Men" (http://www.visionsofprettyboys.com/NCIS/FourMilitaryMen.htm) takes place while Atlantis is still parked in SF Bay. Crossover with NCIS, The Sentinel, & SG-1; additional pairings of Gibbs/DiNozzo, Jim/Blair, & Jack/Daniel. Screen-time for story is pretty well even-handed between Gibbs & DiNozzo & McKay & Sheppard, with the others getting some play, but not as much...and maybe Gibbs & DiNozzo get a bit more coverage than McKay & Sheppard. (Just thought I'd warn in case that's important.)

So, this may be coming a bit late for your trip, but...I found it while I was looking for another story: "Fair Trade" (http://esteefee.livejournal.com/12350.html) by [livejournal.com profile] esteefee - AU, McShep Pairing, and is the first in a series of 8 stories (I think).

If you go down to "Coffee roaster/Science exhibit designer = Fair Trade 'verse" on The Giant McShep AU List (http://www.squidge.org/GiantMcShepAUList/the-actual-list/), you'll find the reading order of the stories -- and there are 8 in the series. :D
