Feeling what McKay feels

I'm looking for stories where something happens to make people feel McKay's emotions.

I'd really love to read a story where he's transmitting all the worst case scenarios and things that might go wrong while he's working to save them and other people can't handle it and freeze/panic/fall apart.

Failing that, any stories that disprove the idea that he'd deliberately risk lives by waiting until the last minute to save the day.

I think flambeau's The machinery of heaven (http://www.doubleagent.org/torch/machinery.html), McShep, 42,500 words, NC-17 fits your request; in it aliens make Rodney have to mind-connect with one of his team members, and when Ford tries it he doesn't like it — or having access to Rodney's mind — at all, but Teyla copes beautifully and eventually even John takes a whirl at being Rodney's mind-connected grounder.

Peeved was not the word - McKay was really upset. The heartrate was climbing again, and each time he took a breath it felt as though he were laboring to pull in enough oxygen. It was like being at altitude, kind of. John had always wondered how much of McKay's doom-and-gloom attitude was just for show; apparently, none of it.
