Season 1 fics

So, I turned a friend into an SGA fan! She's only seen season 1 so far. Can anyone recommend some high-quality season 1 fics for me to send on to her?

A few more details:
She completely buys into the slash element, thinks that Ford had a crush on Sheppard, AND thinks that Ford and Teyla might have hooked up when Ford realized he couldn't have Sheppard. She likes all the guys on the show. She also mentioned that McKay and Zelenka might have had a brief fling (presumably, before McKay moved on to Sheppard) and that is why they argue all the time. This is why I think she'll like the fanfic--her brain is already there.

You know, I posted a very similar search back when I first started watching the series (earlier this year). :-)

Unfortunately, people weren't barging down my posts with recs, as ep-related recs are one thing, whole season related quite another, sigh.

So. The best I could figure out was to find the good, often-recced authors, and check to see when they stories were written, and start from there - oldest stories, that is. Circa 2005 to early 2006, I think. Must-read authors include (hopefully they *were* writing SGA fics back then *cringe*): seperis, rageprufrock, lavvyan, kormantic, yin_again/yinfic, svendra, thegrrrl2002, cesperanza, mmmchelle, aesc, sheafrotherdon, eleveninches... and many many *many* more. But! You should definitely not miss all three of julad's fabulous full-length stories (available on her site (http://yearningvoid.net/stories/julad/cat_stargate.html)); I cannot express how wonderfully wonderful and marvelous, and marvelously wonderful and marvelous they are! ^_^ (Come to think of it, eliade used to write the most fab SGA ficlets, but doesn't seem to be active in the fandom anymore, more's the shame. Still, her tags should lead you to loads of SGA goodies from about the right time frame, I think.)

I don't have any links for older rec sites, but I stumble across I'll let you know. (P.S. Most of the above authors have their sites linked in their profiles, which makes finding their stories much easier; if not, the tags are bound to help. Good luck hunting! )

Thank you! That gives me plenty of places to look around! I haven't read many of these authors yet either (I'm fairly new to this myself), so it'll be good to check out these people's work.

Another couple of authors whom, in retrospect, I can't believe I forgot to mention: Resonant (resonant80, I hope) and torch (flambeau. The latter definitely has utterly, utterly *good* fics from about the right timeframe, and Res, well, if you want to melt, and do it smartly, she's the best. :-)

I'm gonna double check Res' username, 'cause I apparently suck at remembering 'em...
