Alien Rodney.

I was just reading a story and a tiny part in it got me hankering for a fic type.

Are there any stories where the Atlantis expedition meet Rodney on a mission either to the mainland, or through the 'gate and bring him back? Similar to what happened with Teyla or Ronon.

Also, I've read a few stories where John, at some point, kisses Rodney and says it's an effective way of shutting him up. Are there any fics about where Rodney gets upset or hurt by this? Thinking that John isn't interested in what he has to say, or anything along those lines?

As always, McShep preferred if possible.

You might like Tale as Old as Time (http://immoralilly.livejournal.com/201179.html) by immoralilly, McShep, fairy tale-ish AU, R, ~6,800 words; in which the Atlantis crew happens upon a planet on which Rodney, the lonesome giant ferocious beast genius scientist lives in his own little castle fortress, John isn't a robot but is left as collateral anyway, and happy endings happen after all.

For non-talking Rodney, try kassrachel's Speech (http://trickster.org/kass/speech.html). Rodney gets pretty hurt when John suggests Rodney not talk during sex. (one of my favourite stories)

Huh; no one's said A Clear and Different Light (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=53) yet? It's been years since I read it, but I know it had an alienish Rodney. My description reads: "So the Wraith possess their victims and Rodney is close to being a Lantean native and bff with Teyla who works runes, and Sheppard is part-fae and Ronon has wings. And there is Tension. And Conspiracies."

In can't take the sky (http://smiley.zonezine.net/html/38905.html) by sardonicsmiley, John and his ship of misfits pick up Rodney. Of course this is a total AU, a fusion with Firefly, but it's quite good and fits the criterion for Rodney as newest crew member, someone added to the team from 'offworld'.

Oddly, I can't come any closer than those two. You'd think there'd be more of these, but I guess Rodney is so quintessentially... Rodney... all tech-obsessed and hypochondriac. It's hard to imagine him without earth tech. Who'd he be without it?

(I think that may be the sounds of a plot bunny sneaking up on me. Uh oh.)

If you don't mind complete AU's, there's "Maybe Baby" (http://archiveofourown.org/works/93200) by omg_wtf_yeah. It's McShep Pairing... Rodney's a humanoid alien - interspecies mix? - with some extra unseen parts (Warnings for mpreg), who's brought into the Program after everyone else is there.
