SGA - Insane Crossovers

Hi, guys :)

I have an unusual request. We know that the SGA guys and girls are really geeks at heart. That's something fanfics underline all the time, with inserting references to Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, Superman...

Because of this, and because of how we fans love to see our favorite characters in insane situations, it occurred to me, that surely there must be fanfictions where the insanely improbable, if not outright impossible happens and the SGA characters meet Doctor Who/Superman/etc. And by that I don't mean a real crossover or fusion, but honest to goodness insanity. They meet, for example, Superman, a purely comic book character, and Rodney almost has a seizure because of the *impossibility* of it all. Or Luke Skyewalker, or Spock and Kirk, or The Doctor, or Batman... need I go on?

It doesn't even need to be fully crack, it can be a serious story, as long as the improbability is emphasised and there's a very good reason for this to happen at all. But I'm just assuming that such a story would be rather in the crack category.

My question therefore is: Can anyone tell me where to find such fanfiction gems? The pairing doesn't matter, it can be gen/slash/het/femmeslash, whatever, though I'm rather partial to McShep.

okay, that might be interesing. Is it only mcshep or is there a TOS pairing? If there is a TOS pairing, which one is it?

I was thinking the same thing, actually, and took a quick look. Looks like it isn't any more Kirk/Spock than the show itself, and we know all about the bromance/heterosexual life-partner thing there, right? :)

bromance, yes. But since I'm a Spock/McCoy OTP! kind of person... well, I just can't read Kirk/Spock so avoid anything that has more than bromance/friendship for them. I'm weird that way.

I can understand that. I myself was squicked out by the idea of *any* sort of pairings in TOS, just until recently, when I became desensitised about it after being brow-beaten into watching the 2009'er movie. Some pairings made scarily sense in that one. Or I'm reading too much fanfic. Who knows. :)

What I actually meant with "insane" was actually less about the crack and more about the fact that the boys just *know* this can't be true, because, for example, the superheroes of their comic books, or their scifi heroes *can't* be real, right? Not a crossover/fusion where they take this person out of the comics/movies seriously without questioning their sanity. That's why I said crackfic, because I imagine that's my best shot to find such stories, but I will be over the moon if someone can find me a semi-serious story with that theme.

There might be some you like in this earlier request (http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/639827.html), though it was about out-there or improbable crossovers that were really well-written, not about the characters noting how improbable it was...

Yes, Amireal's story fits exceptionally well to my request, especially since it seems to be a semi-serious one. I knew there had to be someone who couldn't resist that particular scene. It was just a question of it being badfic or a goodfic. Thank god it's from the pen of someone as talented as amireal :)

Fitting or not, thank you for the recs, I really appreciate it. :) It's not easy finding well-written "should be impossible, but works because the author is just that awesome" type of crossovers, and these sound like just that.

Don't know half of the fandoms in these crossovers and fusions, but quite a lot of the stories sound interesting. Also, don't know about you, but SG1 crossovers are always fun for the Daniel and/or Jack factor alone, if you ask me. :)

But damn, you have quite a list of bookmarks. You won't mind if I add you to network, will you? This way I'll know to look through your bookmarks first if I need anything. :)

Or would you say we're simply fanfic addicts? *laughs* Never thought there were that many good fanfictions floating around on the web. Guess I had bad luck and ran into too many badfic. But hey, at least the SGA fandom has negligibly few badfic, most authors here are wonderful writers.
