Hi

This request is for epic romance McShep style. I'm not talking about Harlequin or fluff - epic romance can be angsty. I'm talking about McShep fics (any kind, au or Atlantis or whatever) where their romance made you just sigh and breathe deep and fall in love with them an romance all over again.

This is a bit awkward to describe but I hope someone fins something fitting the bill. Thanks anyway.

just a few off the top of my head

They're not all epic in length but the romantic aspect felt memorable to me in:

Lost in Waiting (http://www.stickymanpress.mediawood.net/lostinwaiting.html) by Lacey McBain. ~14,800 words
The Difference Engine (http://community.livejournal.com/i_defeated_sga/8205.html) by [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge, ~20,900 words
Forget Me Not (http://maisierita.livejournal.com/14509.html) by [livejournal.com profile] maisierita, ~47,000 words
A Song of Companionship (http://chelle.slashcity.org/atlantis/song.shtml) by Chelle, ~36,600 words
Every Day in Every Way (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=8) (~58,500 words) and other longer stories by [livejournal.com profile] velocitygrass
The Ones You Leave Behind (http://www.refugeeblues.com/mcshepmatch/2009/war/fic13w_sab.html) (~30,200 words) and other longer stories by [Bad username or site: taste_is_sweet title= @ livejournal.com]

Not epic length-
The 'Oh' Thing: PG, 6600 words. They fall in love without realizing it. http://community.livejournal.com/casa_mcshep/19154.html
Worth Fighting For: NC-17, 15,313 words. John fights for Rodney. http://velocitygrass.livejournal.com/73416.html
Rules of Engagement: NC-17, 21,950 words. Harlequin-ish with a fake marriage that turns out to be maybe not so fake. http://velocitygrass.livejournal.com/62709.html

Epic length (most are 'verses and have upwards of 50,000 words total)-
Farm in Iowa 'verse: NC-17 overall, link goes to master post. http://sheafrotherdon.livejournal.com/105567.html
The Neighborly Detective and the Tragic Woobie Widower: NC-17, AU where John is a detective and Rodney has a kid. http://elayna88.livejournal.com/311636.html
Fair Trade: NC-17, AU. Warning- mild disability. http://esteefee.livejournal.com/12350.html

Geeks and Goons series (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/852967/) by likethekoschka is the obvious choice.
Slither (http://liketheriverrun.livejournal.com/28375.html) by [livejournal.com profile] liketheriverrun, 19,200 words, PG-13.
Gift Horse (http://liketheriverrun.livejournal.com/3676.html#cutid1) and its sequel Careful Wishing (http://liketheriverrun.livejournal.com/9527.html#cutid1) by [livejournal.com profile] liketheriverrun.
In This Era of Liberty (http://www.fantasi.net/iteol.html) by Chandri MacLeod
Damned If You Do, and Damed If You Don't (http://wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=15313) and other pir8fancier's stories.

Aegis (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=16) by [livejournal.com profile] leahwoof is an AU in which most expedition members have superpowers. This story's John is very angsty and scared to get close to anyone, so the romance gets

Bridges (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=96) by [livejournal.com profile] busaikko has a very realistic, grounded love story between John and Rodney that I think becomes epic in the importance it takes on for both characters.

"The Water Grinds the Stone" by Auburn (http://sgabigbang.talkoncorners.net/?view=fic&id=18) is epic in scope and in length-- over 200,000 words! The romance is big enough to match.

Oops-- that first one was supposed to read, "This story's John is very angsty and scared to get close to anyone, so the romance gets very intense."
