John/Teyla long stories

Hi! I have only read slash in the sga world, and now suddenly feel like venturing into the great unknown territory of HET. I'm looking for John/Teyla stories, or any other het pairing with the exception of John/Elizabeth. Also John and another male character having a friendship that is part of the main story would be awesome.

Stories that are longer than 15K if possible. 

This is a pretty tall order, so thanks in advance!

Oh, and check out artaxastra's Convergence (http://artaxastra.livejournal.com/tag/convergence) verse. None of the individual stories are long, but they're all connected.

Breathe You Deep (http://web.archive.org/web/20080411234529/http://hth.gatefiction.com/breatheyoudeep.htm) (~17,500 words) by Hth (sequel to The Miracle Worker (http://web.archive.org/web/20080302215154/http://hth.gatefiction.com/miracleworker.htm), ~2700 words) has good but sad John/Teyla UST. Warning: really good but very sad (http://community.livejournal.com/sgversetop5/5595.html), and main pairing is Rodney/Ronon.

If you hadn't already read it, copperbadge's Angles Thus and So (http://community.livejournal.com/i_defeated_sga/9932.html) might do it for you, starts out as/mostly is convincing Elizabeth/Rodney, ends up as McShep, ~39,000 words.

Thanks for the link, definitely gotta check those stories out as well. Will file this story away for a rainy day. The warning is much appreciated, a well written sad story can really mess with one's emotions.

I second (third? fourth?) the above rec for Heteronormativity by Mad_Maudlin; it's awesome! :D And tielan has a lot of good John/Teyla plus team.

These Proverbs We Made in the Winter Must End by siriaeve is Ronon/Jennifer (with background John/Rodney/Teyla) and is really awesome. :) It's for SGA Big Bang last year; I did some art for it. It's a mostly-gen plot with a pairing on the side, and it's very sweet and teamy even if that isn't a pairing you normally read.

Come and Join the Dance by mirabile_dictu isn't quite as long as what you're looking for (it's more like ~13K) but it's utterly gorgeous Rodney/Teyla with a strong side of team friendship.

The Therapeutic Properties of Coffee by LikeTheRiver is only *somewhat* het -- it's Rodney/Katie but is primarily focused on his friendship with John, covering several years.


On the self-reccing side, longer het stories by me:

Devil and the Deep Blue Sea is Rodney/Jennifer with a heavy side of John-Rodney friendship.

Slightly Tarnished Armor is a cracky medieval AU with Ronon/Jennifer, Rodney/Teyla, and John/Elizabeth.

Night Ops is sort of pre-Rodney/Jennifer and is about the two of them running a covert op to rescue John, who's being interrogated and tortured.

Thanks for the recs. I absolutely adore the Geeks and Goons series which is co-authored by LikeTheRiver, so that's the first story I'm going to grab on to. Self-recc away! Your story Old Soldiers Die Hard was the BEST ever gen story I've read.
