The women of Atlantis

I'm looking for fic in which one or more of the women are at the center of the action, get to be awesome and kick ass (either literally, or metaphorically in a non-violent way). I'm mostly looking for stories with Jennifer, Sam, Teyla, Jeannie, or Elizabeth but also I'm open to fic featuring other female characters. I'll take gen, Jennifer/Rodney, Sam/Rodney, Teyla/Rodney, or femslash. Action-adventure or humor would be perfect! (Don't want: Jennifer/Rodney breakup; any of the women ending up dead or leaving Atlantis.)

I have hopes of at least finding some Elizabeth fic I haven't read, because I haven't been looking much before. (I'm rewatching season 2 and was getting a sudden craving - I was actually about to post a request over on my journal but I figured I might as well try my luck here...)

It's been a while since I read it because it was written in 2006, but I think Strength and honor are her clothing by kajikia (gen) fits (not least because it was written for a challenge prompt: "The female characters in any combination going off and having an adventure together. Slash, gen, either works.")

Never Stop Moving (http://megtipper.tripod.com/neverstop.htm) is very much a Teyla centered fic. She feels pretty useless at the beginning and takes it upon herself to learn science and engineering from Rodney. Good and LONG. I loved it.

A Candle Against The Ocean (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4230007/1/A_Candle_Against_The_Ocean) by Ryuuza Kochou is a wonderful Miko character story, and Miko totally kicks ass at the end.

Arbor by siriaeve is a Teyla-centric team story. Don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for. Also, I don't know if you've been following it but auburnnothenna's Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves (http://auburn.dreamwidth.org/tag/space+pirates) is becoming very much a Women-kick-ass story. It starts Vala and McShep space pirates, then builds. It's a crossover (Janet, Vala, and Sam) and I love Lindsey Novak. (http://community.livejournal.com/artword/52801.html) ()

The second one does sound interesting but to he honest, I'm avoiding McShep because I've been burned once too often by the way Jennifer Keller is written in it. I love Vala, Sam, and Novak though... maybe I'll risk it and take a peek. I'll definitely check out the first one though, thanks.

It's a good fic but Auburn is not very into Jennifer, IIRC. The fic doesn't bash her or anything like that, but I think she does not appear in this AU at all, because she did not join the SGC or something like that. At least I don't remember her in it (though I actually haven't gotten around reading the latest part yet).

The story goes AU from the first episode of SG1 and the first episode of SGA. Keller was still(in this timeline) keeping Serenity afloat. Read it. You'll thank yourself in the morning.

On the femslash side: Fell in Love With a Girl by d. It's Teyla/Kate, sweet and very funny, and Teyla gets to shine (along with the other female characters) when the team ends up in an all-female village and the male members accidentally get sold into slavery (oops). There really aren't enough funny Teyla fics out there.
