Ronon POV of Search and Rescue

Like the subject line says, I'm looking for Search and Rescue from Ronon's POV. I've looked through sga_episodefic, sheps_atlantis, sga_genficathon, atlantisbasics, and Delicious (not even one entry there- which makes me suspect I'm guessing the wrong tag), with no luck so far.

I'd love to know what Ronon's thinking while he and Sheppard are under the building, and on the hive ship, but just can't find any stories to tell me.

You already looked in sga_episodefic, so this might not be what you have in mind, but I wrote Strong (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_episodefic/66842.html) as my take on Ronon's thoughts during that episode.

That's probably the closest thing to it that I've seen so far. In fact, that may be what started the search.

I don't know that you're going to find much - I've seen some fics that refer to that episode's events told from Ronon's POV, but they're just snippets of that. You might have better luck looking by way of certain authors like friendshipper or minnow1212 - I'm sure that there are others, but none are popping to mind right now other than what I've found.


For instance, Eildon Rhymer aka rhymer23 has several fics that mention 'Search & Rescue' but aren't quite what you're looking for:

"A Sure Anchor" (http://www.rhymer.org.uk/sga/sureanchor.htm) (Not quite what you're looking for, but a somewhat similar situation told mostly from Ronon's POV w/ references to 'Search & Rescue') [Gen!Fic]

"Another Step" (http://www.rhymer.org.uk/sga/anotherstep.htm) (probably closest bet, but still mostly focused on John) [Gen!Fic]



I think this one's mainly from Teyla's POV, but there's input from Ronon on what happened -- "Rescue" (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4432897/1/Rescue) by obsessed1. [hints of John/Teyla]


And then there's "Missing Breath" (http://community.livejournal.com/ronon_love/2137.html) by perspi -- again, it's not what you're looking for exactly. It goes AU post-Kindred, but Ronon & John & Rodney are involved in trying to get Teyla back, with the story being mostly from Ronon's POV. [hints of OT4 -- mostly Gen!Fic, though]


If you don't mind slash pairings, Crossroads (http://sga.fictionresource.com) is searchable by episode via preferred pairing.

Yeah, I always seem to want the one thing that's not available...no matter how many different items or styles there are. It's a "talent". :p

Thanks for the suggestions. If only I hadn't snooze buttoned 3 times I wouldn't have to wait 'til after work to read them. I think I've read most of friendshipper's, but I go have another looksee. And I have barely scratched the surface on minnow1212.

Really, those are some of the best things to search for -- might even inspire some of the talented writers out there. :D

I was just over at Crossroads.... there's not a lot for Season 5, but I did find at least one that fits the bill: "I Am The Weapon" (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=14629) by jendavis is a complete collection of episode tags from when Ronon first entered Atlantis, so the 'Search & Rescue' tag is the first bit in the 4th chapter if you want to skip ahead to that. It is John/Ronon slash with a rating of NC-17.

"Traitor" (http://rubygirl29.livejournal.com/35181.html) by rubygirl29 is supposed to have spoilers for 'Search & Rescue', but I haven't read it as yet, so I don't know how that works out.... it is John/Ronon slash that is WIP.

I just found this post, and I'm a bit late recommending these, but I know of two great fics for Search and Rescue from Ronon's POV. :) I don't read slash, so both are gen.

To Dance With The Clouds Which Follow A Storm (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4133636/1/To_Dance_With_the_Clouds_Which_Follow_a_Storm) by CoolBreeze1. (coolbreeze1 here on LJ as well.)

It was written after "The Last Man," and before "Search And Rescue" aired, so it's slightly AU, but it follows the events in "Search and Rescue" pretty closely, though Sheppard's injuries are more severe, and they spend more time trapped in the collapsed building. (Which is a bonus if you're a whumper like me, lol. ;) )
