I've just got an e-reader for christmas, so as I have no money to buy e-books yet I was wondering if it would be possible to ask for help finding fics that I can read on my reader (I think it's PDF files but I'm really new to this.)

So, are there any McShep, long and with happy endings, detailing how they fell in love. In interesting ways ie. John realises he loves Rodney when he see's Rodney gush over some sience thing in pure geek fashion, or Rodney realises that he wants to be with John forever in the middle of a startrek marathon while they banter. Stories that highlight their friendship and how it leads into love.

Or maybe some good friendship banter fics.

Any that are able to load onto my new e-reader will be loved forever.

Kind regards,
Maddie

If you need PDF's, you can easily make them yourself from f.x. .doc's (or the text copy pasted from any html document, really) with Open Office :) Just "export as PDF", et voilĂ .

Try the fanfiction Ebook Library (http://amalthia.mediawood.net/ebooks/) - has some great fanfics as ebooks.

Hey Maddie,

TBH, PDF is pretty much the worst ebook format to use on an ereader, unless it happens to be the Kindle DX. Depending on your ereader, different formats are better: Kindle=AZW, Sony or Nook=EPUB, etc. The Ebook library link provided earlier gives you the chance to download per the format of your reader.

There are also comms on LJ that provide ebook versions of fic. You can also convert stuff yourself using calibre. Good luck, and enjoy the fic!

Incidentally, even if you do NOT have a Kindle, the stuff on this comm (http://community.livejournal.com/kindle_fanfic/) is easily converted into a format your reader can handle using calibre.

I agree with the person that said PDF is the worst ebook format you can get for your device unless it's the Kindle DX.

You may also want to check out the community [livejournal.com profile] fanfic_ebooks if you'd like to see tutorials on formats and how to use Calibre to create your own fanfiction ebooks with a Table of Contents.
