Howdy,

I'm currently looking for Mckay/Sheppard AU fics which have Rodney as a musician and/or composer.  Your assistance would be much appreciated!

rasah wrote Glastonbury (http://rasah.livejournal.com/24257.html), in which Rodney is a musician whom John keeps meeting at Glastonbury over the years.

skoosiepants has a band AU called Everything Else is Secondary (http://skoosiepants.livejournal.com/180826.html) where the band is made of Bates, Cadman, Parrish, Rodney, and John.

toft_froggy wrote String Theory, a Concerto for Violin in D Minor (http://toft-froggy.livejournal.com/190025.html) in which Rodney is a composer and conductor, and John is a violinist.

I recently found about Complicated Symphony (http://www.wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=8042) by ForCryinOutLoud; it's WIP (and might stay that way, it looks like) and somewhat pre-slash-ish, but should be good (I haven't gotten around to reading it yet).

There was also a story in which alternate universe Rodney (who's a world famous piano player) and his husband? partner? SO? John stumble into the "regular" SGA 'verse, and musician!Rodney has to play a alien/ancient piano-thing to save the day... Can't remember what it was call as I never finished reading the story; it was a heavy read.

Next up is The R Word (http://wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=7666) by Orithain and Rina, in which John is a detective investigating the abduction of local kids (small town and all that) and Rodney is the recluse musician hiding out from the world after his nervous breakdown. Warning: mushy at places.

To go with the trend of reccing fics I haven't read yet, you could try All You Can Be (http://beingothrwrldly.livejournal.com/351544.html) by beingothrwrldly, in which Rodney is a music teacher and John was a pilot who gets recalled for war.

A-ha! Finally found it: Counterpoint (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/165749.html) by Nestra, in which Rodney is composing a concerto, and John gets hired as his assistant. Written for the Harlequin challenge.

And there was a short band!AU in which John goes to a concert and watched Rodney's band (Zelenka and some others) play, then gets it on with him, but I can't track it down now. (Let's just say that JOhn was mesmerized by Rodney playing and singing 'Alelujah' and leave it at that, shall we?)

This one might be cheating. Rodney's only a virtual musician, in some alien death trap. It's pretty good though and his reaction to living out his childhood dream is awesome.
