Date: 2009-11-05 04:18 pm (UTC)Streets in a World Underneath It All (http://ismenetruth.livejournal.com/8035.html): McShep. 6k. Based on a "colony Atlantis" AU. Back Earthside for the Nobel ceremonies (Rodney, Radek, and Jeannie are the physics winners of the year), John and Rodney stop by a bookstore. John finds a book about him, comprising interviews with Atlantis personnel, and he secretly buys it when Rodney suddenly spazzes about it. When he sees that Rodney mentioned loving John in his interview, John decides that he wants to be a little more public about their relationship (which isn't exactly secret, but).
Rules of Engagement (http://velocitygrass.livejournal.com/62709.html): McShep. (I don't remember if he actually won it in the end, but it's a theme.) 22k. Having lost Atlantis, John is leading a low-level Earth team and Rodney is working towards a Nobel. In order to get into the lab he needs to prove his work, Rodney learns he needs to show he's sociable ... and a spouse would go a long way to showing that, since he otherwise really isn't. He persuades John to retire and marry him, promising it will only have to last for the three to six months of lab time Rodney needs. They both turn out to enjoy married life and find themselves dreading the end, but of course they can't *talk* to each other or anything silly like that.
All of Eden (http://community.livejournal.com/nixa_jane/4159.html). McShep. May not precisely fit your search. Rodney's back on Earth, about to receive the Nobel, and everything is perfect. Everything. And everyone wants him to remind them of the address to Atlantis.
